This is the second time I have purchased one of these sweet little quartz alarm clocks, and that should tell you how I feel about them! This one is for a bedroom, although not to be used as an alarm clock. The other was for my living room where I needed a clock so that I could clearly see the time, a clock that has a retro look, one that keeps time accurately, and (especially important) one that uses a commonly available battery alkali battery, as some clocks on Amazon use the uncommon (and VERY difficult to find) carbon zinc battery only. An extra perk would be for it to have a second hand. I did not plan on using the alarm function, as I prefer a more accurate digital clock for that purpose, although sometimes I do set the alarm clock as a reminder of an event, or use the second hand to time things. This vintage-look, clock meets ALL of my requirements, and even has a second hand. It has a 4-inch face (excluding the frame) that is an aged ivory color. It has two sturdy little ball feet and a handle with which to carry it around. Setting the time and the alarm is self-explanatory and easy. The clock has no snooze alarm, but I don't use the clock to wake me up. For those to whom the alarm matters, the alarm beep is very soft at first, but it both speeds up and becomes louder until it provides almost constant noise. These clocks also have a button you can push to briefly turn on a light so as to see the time in the dark. So far the clocks keep time perfectly. I believe the body of the clocks are (bronze-colored) plastic. These little clocks fit the bill for me, and I am very happy with them!

This vintage retro clock is a great desk addition: it does not take up too much space, it's clear to see, and it looks fantastic (I got the one with Roman numerals!). The only reason that I'm giving it a four star is because, contrary to how its advertise, this clock is mostly silent, not "super silent." During the day I hardly ever hear anything; however, at night, when everything is quiet around the house, there is definitely discernable gear noise, but nothing major. At first I thought it was just the fan on my laptop turning on, but then I realized that it was the clock. I don't feel like it's loud enough to be disturbing if you're trying to concentrate reading or something, but it is there. Thankfully, the noise's reach does not extend very far, so once you're like a few feet away from it you really can't hear it anymore (which was my main concern for when I went to bed). It still is a great buy, I just think that they need to change their product description to say Mostly Silent.

It’s adorable but classy and I love the Victorian era. Keeping perfect time. The alarm however is too low but keeping it just for a time piece. Will order a different alarm clock.
