This is a Wifi thermostat that works with the Smartlife app. I have a smartlife ecosystem in my house so I was hoping this could control my furnace and window air conditioners. Install was easy enough. Just screw the baseplate into the wall and connect the wires. The wire connectors have spring release clamps so I didn't need the tiny screwdriver that I needed with the old thermostat. Software setup went fine. It connected to my home wifi system and the Smartlife app added the thermostat without any hitches. The screen is nice and colorful. I have two reasons why I won't use it. 1. The screen times out and goes black after and period of time that you can set in the settings, from between 30 seconds to 3 minutes. To wake it up from the timeout you have to touch the screen. Is that to save power? I want the screen to be on all the time. If I'm sitting in my chair, I don't want to have to get up and touch the screen to view the room temperature. What a strange design decision. Somebody wasn't thinking there. 2. The more serious problem is that the thermostat is not accurate. It's off by about 4-5 degrees. This is unacceptable. Price is very high. Perhaps these issues can be fixed with a software update, I don't know. I can update this review if these fixes are implemented. ... show more

After replacing a broken thermostat upstairs and realizing the huge difference it made, we wanted to try it for the downstairs unit as well. This thing is a game changer! This smart thermostat is easy to install but it also depends on if your HVAC also support this model. It is a 5 pin model so you have to check your to make sure it is not a 4 pin but a 5. The instructions are very clear and should take about 15 to 20 minutes to install and set this up.
