First let me start with, I have an above ground, 4500 gallon pool. Last season we had a problem with it being too cold for our liking (low 70’s) even on hot summer weeks. It would never get above about 75 degrees. Now if you’re thinking that this thing will heat your pool when it’s cold outside, it simply will not. If the air temperature is too low, it will not produce heat. With that being said, when the outside temperature reaches the 80’s your pool temperature will go up fast! The hotter it is outside, the hotter the water it can produce. THE SECOND DAY of using this (2- 8 hour cycles) my pool went from 70 to about 83 degrees. We have used our pool more this year so far (it’s only June 16th) than we were able to almost all of last year.

It is very poorly rated. It does not heat the pool like it says in the description. I have it set at 80 degrees and have the solar cover on, I have had my pool open for 3 weeks, and the water temperature never got up to 72 degrees. Very unhappy and dissatisfied. Now it leaks internally. Can't use it what a waste of money.

Added this heater to a hot tub and it’s pretty awesome. I was a little apprehensive on whether this would work and how much energy it was really likely to save, but after a few months, I have to say, it’s pretty amazing. Heats the water much faster than the old built in heater. It’s also saving about $2/day, so it’s gonna earn its keep after less than a year. Hot tub stays a toasty 104 degrees! Company was great and they reached out after purchase to make sure I had chosen the right model and that it would work in my climate. Pretty great experience from beginning to end.

This particular product I bought does not work, I bought this in December and it didn't work at all but I though it was too cold and maybe later on it will work better. I wait until January and February and still did not warm the water. I live in Florida and I thought this heater would be good for the cool days but it doesn't work. I'm trying to contact the company to return it because it was a waste of money.

The media could not be loaded. A lot of folks ask about heating their pools. I have a 16x48, approximately 5061 gallons and use a 110v heat pump 16,036btus….and that’s steam coming off my water. I do live in Central Florida so we very rarely get true freezes during the winter, but the weather currently has been a lows of 49° to highs of the mid 70s. It’s currently 57° and my water is 81°. While it wouldn’t be the best option to heat a pool up north in the winter, it would be just perfect to extend your swimming season once your temps got to a daily avg in the mid 60s. I just see so many folks saying that 110v heat pump couldn’t possibly heat a pool. I’m just here to say it can.🙂 Additional info: I’ve seen a lot of people state that their heater isn’t working… and I can’t stress the importance of paying attention to the flow rate of the pump they are using. I am running a second pump just for the heater. If I remember correctly, it states that the recommended flow rate needs to be between 500-1000gph for it to heat properly… you don’t want to blow the water through the heat pump at anything higher than that or yeah… it’s not going to heat the water at all.

I installed the YC-005 unit 3 weeks ago and it has not heated the water up at all. The unit turns on and water is pumped through the unit, but the water temperature coming out of the unit has not risen one degree. I've reached out to the company for a full refund. This product is faulty and never worked.

We have this hooked up to our 8' x 30" above ground pool. It's about 800 gal and this heater keeps it as warm or cool as we want it. It's smart enough to turn off when the filter gets clogged and flow stops and it is also smart enough to start back up once the flow is restored. Very powerful, energy efficient. We heated the water up to 102F!!! Too hot, but had to try :)
