Viking Culinary Contemporary 3-Ply Stainless Steel Cookware matches form with function. Inspired by the Windsor pan shape, our cookware was designed to create a fashionable look while maximizing performance and efficiency. The conical sides are angled out to provide more surface area for evaporation, while the walls retain more heat resulting in faster cooking times. The vented glass lids allow you to monitor the cooking progress of your meal while reducing the chance of boil-overs. Additional features include unique sealed rims that completely encapsulate the aluminum layer inside the stainless steel. Internal volume markings in both US and metric units make measuring easy (except fry pans). All Viking Contemporary cookware combines a layer of aluminum sandwiched between heavy-gauge stainless steel. The aluminum core provides exceptional heat transfer throughout the cookware, while the magnetic stainless steel exterior makes it incredibly durable and safe for all cooktops, including induction. The Viking signature stay-cool handles are ergonomically designed for a secure grip, comfort and balance, while remaining cool to the touch. Oven, broiler and grill safe up to 600°F/315°C (oven safe up to 450°F/232°C with glass lid), dishwasher safe and features a manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty. This was a fairly big purchase but it is true, you do get what you pay for. My Vikings are heavy and substantial, heat evenly and even though they can discolor a bit from being over a gas stove and inside the gas ovens, a little Bon Ami or Barkeepers Friend cleans them up to a beautiful shine again. If you love to cook (or even if you don't) these pots are worth every penny. My biggest grievance with my last pot set from Wolfgang Puck (so much for famous names - would never touch anything with that name on it again) was that the rivets inside the pots that held the handles to the bases mottled almost immediately letting the cheap under base metal show through and contaminate the food cooking inside with dangerous components from those base metals. As these Viking pots are stainless steel through and through I have not had that problem. Trust me, you don't want to be slowly poisoned by copper or cadmium or aluminum leaching into your food. ... show more

These pots and pans are fantastic. They’re a bit heavy. But I totally forgot some ground beef cooking in one and completely charred it the first time I used it. Vinegar and baking soda and it looked as good as new. I love them.

These pans are beautiful- but learning to cook with them has a learning curve. Things sick, residue left from boiling etc. requires extra care and cleaning. Heavy pans. Handles do get hit on the largest pan.
