  • Rock-Solid System – Completely Transformed My RV Experience
Size: 12V - 3000 VA
I’ve been running a full Victron setup in my RV since 2021, including the MultiPlus inverter/charger, the SmartSolar 100/30 charge controller, the BMV-712 battery monitor, and the Digital MultiControl panel. After years of use across various climates and conditions, I can confidently say this system has been absolutely rock solid. Each component was easy to install and configure, and the integration between devices is seamless. The MultiPlus handles all of my AC needs flawlessly, switching between shore power, generator, and battery without a hiccup. The SmartSolar charge controller keeps my solar system optimized and running efficiently, even on cloudy days. The BMV-712 gives me precise battery monitoring at a glance, and the MultiControl panel makes managing the inverter simple from inside the RV. What I appreciate most is how this system has given me real freedom. I can boondock for days without stress, knowing exactly how my batteries are doing and trusting that the system will just work. It’s added reliability and convenience that truly changed how I RV. Highly recommend Victron to anyone serious about upgrading their mobile power setup. Worth every penny. ... show more

  • Excellent performance and value. 13 months full time without a hiccup.
02/24/2020 Update: Added a second MultiPlus to run in parallel with first. Very easy to configure that way. The increased capacity has removed all overload warnings (when exceeding 2,000W). Haven’t been able to load up past 4,000W yet so not sure how that will behave, but I’m sure it will look and behave the same way. Because my overnight idle loads are so small, having both inverters drops consumption to AES power save mode. So power consumption for both inverters running overnight is the same or less than the single MultiPlus. Nice to have redundancy so if one needs maintenance or fails I can rapidly reprogram to still supply power to the place. 12/1/2019 Update: New firmware is now OS agnostic. You may need a Windows box to get the inverter to the correct firmware revision, but you’ll only need a device with a USB connection after that. ——— Thirteen months and going strong. The good: Absolutely performs as specified. I was a bit confused about VA vs. kW so I walked into the purchase a little uneducated. Basically, assume it’s a 2kW continuous inverter that can easily handle 3kW for at least a half an hour in reasonable temperatures. This unit has run over a megawatt of primarily solar and battery power through it in 12 months without any issues. The Bluetooth dongle to monitor it was pretty amazing. However, don’t wait as long as I did to hook it up to a Venus OS device. Having historic data at your fingertips, as well as live performance metrics anywhere you have Internet is priceless. All connections are clearly labeled, and easy to get to. The unit is very well built and rock solid. I only had to tighten two screws on one side once after a few months of operation. I didn’t put loctite on them, but they still haven’t loosened again even after being relocated. Charging via generator: Being able to soft start and throttle the amount of energy to pull from my generator is an amazing feature. I’ve been able to configure the unit so the generator is producing maximum watts per gallon of fuel, as well as not stress it because it’s running flat out. The adjustable charging profile for (3rd party) LiFePO4 has been spot on. Support: What few questions I had, customer support was remarkably quick to respond, friendly AND helpful. Even when my questions weren’t very well worded. Things to be aware of: It’s pretty heavy. It’s pretty bulky. If you’re going to be updating firmware or settings yourself YOU MUST USE WINDOWS. I’m not a Windows shop, so was a little annoyed that of all the Victron devices I own, this one is not OS agnostic. I had to dump an unplanned couple hundred dollars on a cheap Windows box. Still! Worth the price of admission for me. According to my shunt (BMV712) the unit pulls 35W at idle. A little more than in the spec, but I haven’t been able to sort out where that extra 10W draw is. Could be the shunt isn’t perfectly calibrated. It does hum under different loads, so unless you like an occasional humming blue box, don’t install it someplace you want perfect quiet. If you’re charging at more than 80A for extended time, expect the fan to crank up full speed and heat the room up a bit. The bad: Haven’t found anything truly bad yet. I’ll update if I do. (Other than I only have one. I will be getting another one in 2020 so I have redundancy, and can wire it up support the equipment the site will need while under construction.) ... show more

This has revolutionized all of the power inside of my 1999 Winnebago Rialta 22 HD. It does everything, from replacing all of the 12 V systems, charging the brand, new lithium batteries, taking in the solar controller, taking in the DC to DC charging system, And revolutionizing how I connect to shore power. • Maybe it's not as Robust as I first thought!
Size: 12V - 3000 VA
The product is durable and sturdy, and works great powering my house overnight without a genset. Update: This product, once installed in a permanent install is faulty in an interesting way. It reports a different voltage ( by 0.32 volts) from my battery bank than is provided (by direct measurement) to the input of the Multiplus. This has a couple of impacts - first it will report "Low Battery Voltage" when no such condition exists, and second it will overcharge your battery bank by the same amount (0.32volts). They Victron Smartphone app reports voltage correctly, the Victon Connect app on my PC reports a different value consistently. I attempted to resolve this issue under warranty - to which it was stated 1. Send the unit back at my cost. 2. They will try to replicate the problem 3. If they can replicated they will decide whether to repair or replace - it is implied that any replacement shipping will be at my cost. This process may take 3 to 5 weeks according to them. This does not sound like the kind of warranty a company like Victron should offer - but they rely on their resellers to handle warranty claims. I will create a video later and attach to this review, and future Victron customers can decide how they wish to proceed - given that the warranty when exercised is quite a costly surprise with no guarantee that you'll get a replacement unit. They get a free faulty unit from which to learn where their quality control falls short. I'm generally a fan of Victron and have several other products of theirs - precisely because I thought they would stand by their products which are a notch above in design from other units - and if they work they are worth the extra price. The pictures are at the same point in time - one the phone app - reports the correct voltage as a direct voltmetere measurement. The other is the Victron Connect PC application - and reports what the MultiPlus THINKS is the correct voltage - it is incorrect by an amount that makes charging risky, and operating a challenge ... show more
