I'm an electrical engineer and I love audio. I have had a few decades of experience with high-end audio and these bookshelf speakers really surprised me. The build quality is fantastic and they're nice and small and pack a huge punch. The amplifier inside is a nice two-channel Class D with some signal processing and it runs on 24 volts so you can expect about 50 Watts RMS which is plenty for near field bookshelf speakers. They have lots of great connectivity in the back including one of my favorite features which is a subwoofer RCA output and a switch in the back to defeat the bass output but instead send the bass to these onboard speakers which are very capable. Inside the box you'll find a long port tuned somewhere around 50 hz. These drivers are very well designed and have a great sound and have a very surprising amount of bass. I hook them up with an 8-in subwoofer when I actually think I like the sound of the Bass from the bookshelf speakers over the external subwoofer, that is how capable the onboard drivers are. Now I will say that when I paired it with a 12-in subwoofer that got louder and deeper then it made a lot more sense to use the external and apply the high pass filter on the bookshelves. Let's talk about sound quality. These speakers have fantastic imaging and I was really astounded by the clarity and detail and warmth of the speakers. The tweeter is a little louder than most speakers and bright and gives it a nice shimmering detail to the high end and really makes pop music sound very snappy and enjoyable. Twitter is a silk dome and so it's not harsh but is soft. If you do not have a subwoofer then don't worry as these speakers will not be disappointing. I know that audio can be very subjective and it's very difficult to be able to trust online voices but take it from an expert, these really are fantastic and have plenty of power for listening close and are very detailed and have a great sound and tonal balance with all the features you would need. I would give this product six stars if I could. I was a little surprised that there wasn't any polyfill inside the box however. Either way they don't need them. ... show more

Right of the box, these felt heavy and well- made. Aside from the connection panel in the back, which is understandably cluttered, the front of each speaker looks clean, sleek, and modern. Setup was quick and simple; instructions were a little vague but it was intuitive and easy to figure out. Standard cables are provided for multiple connection options, very versatile functionality. The speaker cable that connects the primary and secondary speakers has substantial length for positioning these at a reasonable distance from one another. I connected these to my TV to test audio quality and connectivity, which was quick and easy. Synchronization of the Bluetooth connection was seamless and became visible for pairing immediately after turning on the power. The audio was crisp and clear, virtually indistinguishable from the originating source. The only way to differentiate between the speakers and the originating device is the volume. The speakers generate a much more amplified sound than the source does. You can control the volume from the source device or manually from the speaker's multi-function knob. These speakers are great! The sound quality is fantastic! They look super sleek and cool too! I love the blue color! They are a really nice size too - not compact, but they fit on a bookshelf, counter, or tv stand easily. They are easy to control with your phone or the knob on the front of the speaker. I've only used them with Bluetooth so far, but it's been very easy to connect. They were easy to set up as well. Just pull them out of the box, plug in, and connect! They are a little pricey, and I think you're definitely paying in part for the name, but the quality in materials and sound is still very much there. These sound incredible. I set them up to compare to my home theater speakers. Ok, they don't have as much bass as that giant subwoofer you see in my photo, but it is plenty good enough considering the size of these speakers. I have some small JBL speakers that cost more than these (assuming you buy a pair). Those are very good, but these are GREAT in comparison. These fill a vaulted great room that's 20 x 20 feet and 22 feet high with excellent music. I think that $200 is a great value for these. Originally I was thinking that both of these would be Bluetooth, but it turns out you do have to connect them together with a wire, that's included. I don't understand what Auracast is or why you would care (I don't), but you can turn it on and off with a switch. Also you can decrease bass with a switch (they assume you might add an external speaker, but it can just be used to decrease the bass, as well. Really, thinking back to when Bose came out with their bookshelf systems decades ago, these blow that away at a fraction of the price. Now I'm wondering if I need to start upgrading all my speakers to sound as good as these. The final resting place for these is on my fireplace mantel in that great room I talked about. I just need to add a power outlet nearby... Recommended! ... show more

nightmare product, won't connect over bluetooth. they look great, sound great, but absolutely won't reliably connect over bluetooth. tried all victrola recommendations, tried chatgpt's ideas, but it's just a terrible product. had to pay $15 to ship it back. victrola, i now dislike you.
