I really like this simple little desk lamp. I wanted something simple, without extra USB ports and other features. This one has a pen holder, and a regular AC adapter that plugs directly into the wall. I got the lamp for work, because there is a motion sensor. My desk is a little too far from the motion sensor, so if I’m the only one in there, the light turns off automatically and I’m left in the dark. I like that there are three different modes, my favorite is probably the warm light. You can also adjust the brightness by holding down the same touch button. That way you can control how bright you want it. There are two touch buttons, a power button and another button that adjusts the 3 modes of light, as well as the brightness. The touch buttons are not raised, backlit, or glow in the dark. So if it’s totally dark in the room, it’s hard to find the on button. But a simple fix for the user would be to put a raised sticker on top of the touch button so it could be felt in the dark, or a glow in the dark sticker that can be seen in the dark. By the way, it shows both black and white lamps in the pictures and even on the box, but it is a black lamp inside. There should be a separate listing for the white lamp if you want that one instead. ... show more

REVIEW: Vicsoon Desk Lamp, LED Desk Lamp for Home Office, Touch Table Lamp with 3 Color Modes 360° Adjustable Arm, Dimmable Desk Light with Pen Phone Holder, White This is a little adjustable lamp that I put on my piano to help me see and read my music books better. The light is decent and the color can be adjusted up to 5000K and down to 3000K for those who don't want the light to be so white. The intensity of the light can also be adjusted from a low of 5% all the way up to full power of 100% power. I have the light on a section of my piano that has a slight slope to it. The base of the light is not that heavy or solid. I have had to catch it from falling over couple times. If I accidently bump it, it tips over for sure. If I bend the stem to a position where it leans forward, so that I can get better light on my music book, it automatically tips forward. I tested it on a flat surface and it was just fine. It doesn't help much that I have set it on a slope. I was actually thinking of using double sided tape to secure it to the piano. The underside of the lamp is flat and makes a nice surface to attach tape. I have also thought of adding some decorative weight the the base. I think the double sided tape will work best. I just have to be aware of what it may do to the piano surface when it has to be removed. It really wouldn't have taken much for them to have made it just a little heavier at the base. The lamp also puts out a good 800 lumens to light up my music books very well. I like it bright and white. The 5000K white at 100% intensity works great for me. My wife, however, has better eyes than I do, so she adjusts it to a cooler color, usually 3000K. She also turns down the intensity to about 75% of power. The kids each have their own preferences. I like that this lamp can shine how we all want it to for our own preferences. The pencil holder is nice to have, but it really doesn't matter to me. My wife uses it to hold pencils because she marks up some of the music and the lamp is a good place for her to keep them. This lamp isn't a bad lamp. It serves its purpose, but it does feel cheaply manufactured and it could certainly use more weight in the base, as already mentioned. ... show more

This is a neat little desk lamp - although would have preferred the gooseneck to be a bit longer. As such it measures 11 inches (just the neck part) which is 3 inches shorter than other similar desk lamps. It has a regular electrical plug connection and not USB or battery operated so it can just be left plugged in since I don't plan to move it around. It's bright enough with just three color tones and I like the touch switches which are just marks on the base - simply brush over the spots to turn the light on and off and change color tones. ... show more

    • It is good basic LED desk lamp for task lighting. Can't use as both a pencil and phone holder. Tips.

Lighting is excellent if you are looking for a desk/task lamp. You can adjust colors between an incandescent yellow to white for coloring, painting, paperwork, reading or homework. You can adjust brightness way down to a night light level if you wanted to use it on a night stand as a night light or in mostly dark room with a television. The lighting has a lot of flexibility. I had the cheapest model with no phone charging, where the top of the pencil holder has slots for the phone to rest in so for my model you either use it as a pencil holder or a phone holder. Most of it appears to be plastic except the gooseneck, which appears to be metal wrapped in something. Not an issue except this means a most of the weight is in the neck and you can bend it so that too much weight is past the center of gravity and it tips over. The base would have benefited from some weights in it or the bottom half of the gooseneck should not be flexible to prevent users from putting it into positions where it cannot stand on its own. It works fine if you are on flat surface and bend 90 degrees near the top or if you put a few heavy metal nuts or scissors into the pencil holder to extend the bend lower in the neck. It's working fine for me and this is not intended to be a negative review. Overall I like it. The lighting portion is excellent. Just be aware there are limitations to how much you can bend the neck before it becomes unstable on its own. You can't have the light hanging way past the base. This is primarily why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. ... show more
