    • It has a fairly loud fan
Initial review: I haven't used this charger on more than one good battery. The charger turned off by itself after charging the battery. Seems fine in that regard. If you're planning on using the Desulfation Mode, be aware that there's a fan on this charger which will probably make it very difficult or impossible to hear the battery venting due to overcharging if it happens (especially if it's a sealed battery, you'll need to stop the charger if that happens or else the battery can be ruined). I wrote to Vevor to ask whether there's a way to turn the fan off at least temporarily. They didn't reply to that question although they replied to one of the included 3 questions I had. The Desulfation Mode on my Vevor smart battery charger produces high frequency pulses up to 15.7V which are gated off for 0.3 seconds and then back on for 0.7sec (I don't recall what the frequency was when gated on). My unit can be forced to read and display the float voltage during the 0.3 second off-time of desulfation, but to achieve that, I have to turn the unit off, press Desulfation Mode button again, and turn it back on again several times to get it to display the float votage (which indicates how the battery is recovering). There is nothing in the instructions about how to make the built-in meter read the float voltage, but clearly a synchronization does happen such that it will only read when the frequency is gated off. I like the flexibility of this charger's functions, although I can't vouch for any of them just yet because I haven't needed to use them aside from charging one 12V sealed lead-acid battery, and to attempt to recover many old sealed lead-acid batteries (they all started out with less than 1V across them because they were all sitting uncharged too long -- so they were likely not recoverable using any reconditioning device). ... show more
