  • Love this.
Color: Brown
I had bought a different automatic door prior to this one that had good reviews, but was also a newer Amazon product. I absolutely could not figure that one out, nothing worked, it seemed like a fake. I found this with a good price and was skeptical again to not have a bad experience, but I love this door! It’s a little bigger than other products and for me that was perfect since I already had a cut hole in my coop where the door would fit. This is SUPER easy to program. I love the different options of using time and daylight to open and close the door. I have mine set to time-time because there are too many trees blocking where sunlight would reach the sensors. It opens and closes promptly and slowly so that chickens don’t get caught. I’ve been using it for just shy of a month now and I checked the battery amount and still said 100%. I was concerned that the snow/sleet we’ve had would cause the batteries to die quicker, but so far so good. And they’re cheap batteries from Harbor Freight, so they tend not to last as long. The only concerning notes I have would be to make sure the screws for the door aren’t too tight so that the door can open and close smoothly. It does go slow, so not much force and probably won’t try to open if one corner is too tight. The other is that there is a setting for force detected if a chicken were caught in the way. I wasn’t quite able to get this properly working. I changed the amount and put my hand in the way as a test and the door still tried to close. Not sure how long it needs to feel something blocking before it opens again. ... show more

  • It worked great at first...
Color: Brown
The media could not be loaded. I've been using this for a couple months and for the most part it was working great. All of a sudden, once our temperature dropped below 32 F and we got a little snow, it started having problems. It gets stuck in the closed position so that my chickens are trapped inside all day. It's not frozen shut, the gear is just having trouble pushing the door up and keeps slipping. Also, once it gets up to the top it keeps on trying to open even further and is clanking (see video). I specifically got this because I get a lot of cold weather. I feel like I can't trust it anymore as it has remained stuck in the morning twice this week. If the manufacturer is able to help me figure out what's going wrong I will change my review. Note: the red stickers in the video are just reflective so I can see if the door is closed from a distance, they do not interfere with the operation. ... show more

  • Best thing we ever bought for chicken coop!
Color: Brown
This works great! We travel quite a bit and had to rely on family or neighbors in our absence to open and close coop door. Tired of depending on others we decided to automate the coop door. Door was a super easy install. It fit right over our existing chicken door. Love the lumens setting that eliminates having to change time when DST happens. After installing we decided to switch it over to a rechargeable battery and solar recharging. This works great! No more failed batteries while out of town. This really solved our problem making sure the door opens and closes on time and insures the door is closed during the night/evening to protect chickens from predators. ... show more

  • Great when it works, but not consistently reliable.
Color: Brown
Easy to install. Worked great for a while. After a couple months started to malfunction. Gear to door would keep moving after door was fully open or closed causing a clacking. Contacted company and after a couple months of haggling got a replacement. Second also worked great for a while until it got cold. Decided the batteries couldn't handle the bitter cold so added wiring to plug it in. Again worked great for a while. Now the second one is also not stopping once door is open or closed. Love it when it works, but cannot fully rely on it. ... show more

  • Product works well, but instructions are not helpful
Color: Brown
Got lucky that my kid was having fun pushing buttons on this as I was planning to box it up for a return when I couldn't find a single instruction on how to open and close the door outside of a schedule. It's a trick of hitting the "hand" button and then settings to open and the reverse to close it. So when that one chicken doesn't make it into the coop in time you can open the door to hustle them in still. ... show more

  • Didn't work right
Color: Brown
The door worked for a day and then stopped working properly. It would open/close/open/close and make a ton of noise. It was hard to get it to stop opening and closing without removing the batteries. We tried a variety of different settings, but nothing seemed to fix the issue. I contact the manufacturer a couple of times but wasn't able to get any help, so I returned it. ... show more

  • Reliable
Color: Brown
Worked this morning with wind chills at -45! If you get a freezing rain event, it sometimes won't work. The sensor for daylight didn't really work for me but the open and close timer works as it should. Combining a huge feeder and a cooler with heating cable, small aerator and chicken nipples with this door-raising chickens is mindlessly easy. $7 dollars a dozen for eggs no more! ... show more

  • Stopped Working/Poor Customer Service
Color: Brown
This product worked fine for about a year and now it’s pretty much worthless. I began to notice in the cold or rainy days that the door would not rise, and now that we are in winter it doesn’t work at all. I tried reaching out to Vevor to see if they had any solutions, but it’s clear they outsource their customer service team to another country and it’s been very difficult to get an adequate answer. They keep asking me the exact same questions and ignoring any response I get. You’d be better off going with a different option. ... show more
