Long time Rustolium user. While working on a 1944 International Harvester Farmall H tractor, I ran into an issue with the front rims. They were badly damaged and rusted. I was able to find some decent used ones but they too had a fair amount of rust and minor damage. I considered getting the rims powder coated but the cost was prohibitively high. So I opted for painting them. The only question was what paint would match the stock silver aluminum paint. After some research and forum time I discovered other people had used this Rustolium paint. I cleaned the rims with wire brushes and Rustolium Rust remover then used the wire brush once more. After a thorough cleaning, Rustolium rust converter primer went down, then 20 hours later, 3 coats of this aluminum Rustolium paint. Now the rims look like new. After a couple coats of clear coat, rims will be ready for new tires. This Rustolium aluminum paint went on smooth and was very forgiving when trying to get it into small holes. Color: I love the oregano! It's slightly darker than sage, slightly brighter/less gray than olive. Paint: Shake REALLY well, press the button all the way down at all times, or you can wind up with texture from the paint and the color won't come out even throughout the use of the can. One trick I started to use was if there was an over-spray with dripping or bubbling, I QUICKLY used my finger to spread it out and it still dried nicely. Once I got the hang of this specific color and paint, it was much easier to use and get the result I was looking for. (For reference, I've used quite a few other colors from this company, but for some reason the oregano was a little harder to get right at first. Worth it though!) So far this is working well, but my outdoor furniture items haven't been exposed to rain or snow yet. I used with on a metal and glass table (the underside of the glass) with just dirt removal as prep, it went on nicely and dried/set with a lovely sheen that's not shiny-glossy. I also painted plastic risers for the table legs with no prep. So far it's adhering well to everything. For one of my other projects, I painted a wicker egg chair with a lot of prep, (scrub with deterrent and dry for a day, Rustolrum's gray spray primer then dry for another day before paint), this also looks great with a gentle sheen. I also previously painted a metal shed with this paint, that had more of a mixed result, but the cans had been sitting in my basement for 6 months and I may not have shaken them enough prior to use. That project came out botchy until I got the hang of using this paint, and a you can see in the photo, one door is still blotchy because I haven't gone back to it. If it doesn't hold up, I'll update the listing, but so far I'm really happy with the results after getting over the learning curve. ... show more

This was my first time using spray paint and I picked this brand bc of its price point, you can't beat it. plus they have almost every shade of color you could want. there was definitely a learning curve as it was my first time but I got the hang of it quickly. I got the *candy pink* color and really loved how the color turned out. it was a little bit difficult to apply bc it would pool up in certain places or make air bubbles all over... I thought it might've been my fault but it seems others struggled a bit with that as well. if you reeeeeally care about the texture, maybe don't use this. and it was weird bc the second can started to spray a much darker pink out and I got scared (picture of it below). after a few seconds it went back to the go color but eeek scary. just shake that can the entire time. also, pictured is the desk I spray painted and I used 2 full cans doing this project and honestly could've used another can if I was picky about getting an even shade all around.... like you can tell its not an even tone but I can't be bothered to make a third order and wait another few days to finish this so oh well! plan ahead and get more than you think you'll need!! id say this is great for smaller projects or materials with lots of crevices. or if your not a perfectionist. bc it will more than likely have a few discrepancies throughout it. and once it dried, it started chipping when I carried these inside. but for something I'm keeping in a corner upstairs, I don't really mind. I think I'll resort to painting by hand for future projects though. ... show more

Used this for my crafting desk! I love the color and how it turned out. It doesn’t require a top coat and was really easy to use. I used 2 cans total for the drawers and desk. Spray nozzle works nice and color is even after going over it several times. It’s just the color I was looking for!

Great paint! Coats well until the last 5% of the paint then the can sprays a little funny. Simply clean and remove anything loose and spray away! Over spray doesn't stick about 4ft away so in the garage isn't too bad.
