My senior dog would not drink water from the bowl with this additive in it. It is very strong-smelling and, I assume, also has a taste from the ingredients in it. This is not to say it is a poor product as I have been pleased with this company for other purchases. I would just say, “Heed the labels or product descriptions which say whether or not an additive is odorless and tasteless,” if you think your pet might not like a peppermint or other herbal flavors. ... show more

    • Makes my dogs chug their water
I got this primarily to see if it could help freshen the breath of my middle pomeranian, who has breath deadly enough to knock out a horse, but decided upon receiving the bottle to just try it on all my dogs. It’s some nice dental care, so why not? Well, they all love it. It must taste good to them, and they must also be able to tell the difference when it’s in their water bowl, because they absolutely chug the water when it’s in there and they drink normally otherwise. Lol….if they love it then I love it because I love them. I will also add though that I love this product because I have already noticed a change in my middle pomeranian’s breath, and it actually came as a bit of a surprise. He’s big on “kissing”, and his kisses have become much less stinky lately. That’s a big win! I had kind of resigned myself to just dealing with the bad breath as a small dog problem, but this stuff has really been helpful. We are definitely going to be continuing with using this.
