Good little mill
Love this little mill jig, works great for edging and cutting beams but also for end cuts

Well made.
This chainsaw guide is well made from fairly thick sheet steel and a cast clamp for the chainsaw bar. It has an adjustable guide so you could use a 2x6 or 2x4 or other dimensional lumber as a guide. You just screw the lumber into the side of the log and clamp the chainsaw bar into this rig. It then slides along the lumber to guide the chainsaw in a straight line. You need to re-position the board for each cut. Probably best for cutting out square posts from smaller logs. ... show more

What I expected.
This isn't an extremely heavy duty product, but you should already know that by the image and the price. That said it works fine. I used it with it just clamped on a few times and liked it so I decided to drill an extra bar I had to mount more permanently with the provide bolts. Works as it should. As always when working with chainsaw attachments always stay aware of what you are doing. If you don't pay attention you could be seriously injured. ... show more

Mill Received, but was missing all hardware
*** Update *** The folks at Zihvfzu reached out to me shortly after I'd posted my original review. They indicated that my satisfaction was important to them and that they'd like to resolve my issues. I replied and indicated that I'd appreciate a replacement hardware kit. The folks at Zihfzu sent me an entire new full tool, not just the missing hardware. I have not had a chance to test the mill yet and it may be several weeks before I'm ready for that, but I did open up the sealed package and confirmed that the hardware was present in the replacement kit. I've decided to revise/increase my star rating based on the rapid, good faith response from the company. Once I've had a chance to actually use the mill I'll revise the review again with my milling experience. ** Original Review ** This review is for "Vertical Portable Chainsaw Wood Cutting Tool, Lumber Cutting Guide for Cutting Wooden Boards and Wood in Sawmill Factories", Zihvfzu Item model number YJKBJ001 (ASIN B0D4CFHV34). Title and ASIN are included in the review because sometimes reviews get re-sorted and are no longer associated with the correct product. The Zihvfzu chainsaw lumber cutting guide shipped quickly and was packaged reasonably in a cardboard box. Inside the shipping box the Zihvfzu kit was packaged in a brown cardboard box which was sealed shut on all edges with cellophane tape. I'm a hobbyist woodworker and for a number of years I've used an Alaskan chainsaw mill to turn logs into lumber. It's been maybe 15 years since I last milled a log, but I still own all of my equipment including 24in and 36in Alaskans, a guide plank, and both Stihl 066 and 084AV chainsaws for milling. Earlier this year I acquired a number of logs I'd like to mill but at this point it's July in central NC and we're seeing 100degF days so I'm waiting for the weather to turn a bit cooler before tackling this task. I picked up the Zihvfzu not to mill a final product. I'm thinking that I'll still use an Alaskan to cut my lumber. I want the Zihvfzu for cutting side cants off a log without having to rotate and re-dog the log for each side. This would potentially save me a lot of effort. I received the Zihvfzu in July, which for me is too hot to be milling lumber. So I waited a couple of months until the weather turned cooler before bringing out the mill. When I cur the tape and opened the box I found that the kit contained the mill, the L bracket for use with a 2x4, and a manual. The kit was missing all of the other hardware. No bolts, no nuts, no hex wrench. I'll emphasize that the box was sealed WITH TAPE so there's no chance that the hardware fell out, the hardware was never in this box. The mill isn't of much use without the hardware to attach it to chainsaw. I've got things to do on my Saturday other than try to find the parts necessary to put this thing together, so I'm going to have to give this a poor rating because I cannot even test it. At some point on a weekday evening I'll likely go through my parts bins and piece together the hardware necessary to use this mill, so that I can use it the next time I'm milling. If it works as intended I will revise this review describing how it went to actually use the mill. ... show more

Poor quality
Chainsaw bar clamp is bent. Chainsaw will not make a straight cut because of this.

Great fit
What's excellent in cutting my own lumber

Functional Chainsaw Cutting Guide
This chainsaw cutting tool does what it's advertised to do. However I encountered an issue that I've yet to resolve when using it. I prop up the piece of wood I'm cutting with smaller logs underneath it to elevate it from the ground to keep the nose of the chainsaw from coming into contact with the dirt. As I work my way down the log I eventually reach the first prop log and have to stop to move it past the area I've already cut in order to continue. That slows down the process a bit, which is rather slow to begin with. I had to knock a star off for that issue. Otherwise it's a decent value. ... show more

Works Fine
Edge mill clamps onto guide bar. The is rides on a plank and guides the bar. Simple and effective. No problems so far.
