  • Great 395 clone
Really didn’t need this saw but I’ve always been curious about these clones and wanted to try one out. I have a stihl 660 and an older 064 that still runs great so I didn’t really need another big saw. When it came, packaging was good. Was impressed with the feel and plastics. Put a 36” bar on it and it fired on the 5th pull. Went over it to check bolts and screws were tight and took muffler apart to check for any loose metal shavings that might score the cylinder. Everything checked out. Took it back on the farm where a large oak had blown over last summer. Tuned carb slightly and fell in on cutting up the tree. Performed as well as my 660 and had no issues. So far have run about 7 tanks of fuel and have been pleased. I did go ahead and replace the Chinese plug with an NGK but wasn’t necessary. I like that if anything breaks I can replace them with Oem Husqvarna parts. Seems to be a pretty good saw at 1/4 price of a genuine 395. Happy with the purchase ... show more

  • Great saw
So far I've ran about 4 tanks of fuel through this saw and I've had no issues. The plastics are almost the exact same quality as a real Husqvarna. It ran a little rich when I first started it so I adjusted the carburetor slightly and now it runs almost perfect. The chain brake, oiler, and recoil are all working well. The only complaints I have is that I can't adjust the idle speed as low as I like, and the compression release seemed to be junky. It starts after about 4 pulls every time. It is pretty loud but not much louder than the Husqvarna 371xp that I've used. It's heavy but that's to be expected with one this size. It seems to be a good saw so far, especially for how little it cost. I'm sure it's bound to have some small issues so it would be good to have some mechanical knowledge if you plan to buy one. That being said I still recommend getting one, especially if you're someone like me who won't use it enough to justify buying the actual Husqvarna model. ... show more

  • Ran great until recoil spring issue
I got the saw started and it ran great. Low idle sounded good, the chain wasn’t moving, high wasn’t screaming and sounded good while cutting. I used premixed 40:1 fuel and it started easily. I turned it off to tighten then chain and the rip cord snapped, when I pulled the cover off to fix the cord the recoil spring flew out. After a few hours of trying to get the spring back in place (deep walls on the retainer and the size of the spring make this very difficult) I called the customer support line and they gave me a full refund. I just wanted a replacement for the cord/spring housing or a new spring so that was a nice surprise. It’s in the shop now getting put back together and looked over. The guy at the shop says he has another Holzfforma with the exact issue. If it runs the way it did before the spring blowout I’ll change this review to 5/5 if it falls apart it’ll be 1/5. ... show more

  • A beast in your hands but not on your wallet! Get it. Trust me!
The media could not be loaded. Honestly no problems whatsoever. Not all “chinese” Chainsaws are the same in 2024. Will it last 10 years idk? Its already paid for itself after a year of firewood cutting. The ONLY reason to pay 3x as much is if you are a bigtime faller/tree service guy or just have money to blow. Ive held the 1200$ husqvarna and they are almost identical cosmetically. Im sure my pull rope, cover, or switch will wear out faster than the premium models but I expect that and dont care because I can get any replacement parts from Holzfforma under warranty fast and find aftermarket parts online when the warranty expires myself. Its not complicated. It oils and doesnt leak and its been a year about and heck ive had that issue with almost any saw i owned including the big brands. She is strong. Holzfforma has become the saw of the future….now. ... show more

  • Good clone, fooled a few coworkers with it
Other than the small dogs this is a perfect clone of a 395xp. I don’t know if this is the norm but mine came with a NGK plug and a Walbro carb so I was pleasantly surprised by that. I’ve been babying it so far for break in but even on smaller logs and avoiding wide open throttle it rips just like the real ones we have. Starts great and everything but I attribute that to the quality plug and carb. Hot start is always one pull so far and I run 40:1 mix in it. No bar oil leak on mine and everything operates as it’s supposed to. Don’t really need the decomp so I’ll replace it with a plug, this thing is seriously easy starting for a big saw, I have others that give me way more of a fight. I plan on porting it after it’s broken in as a practice of getting into the hobby and I’ll report back in cylinder quality and any notice about internals. ... show more

  • Love and the chainsaw
Like this saw, I had a Husqvarna 395 so given this one, a shot power may not be exact but it’s pretty close. I haven’t turned the car or anything like that enjoying cutting with it so far so far pretty nice deal.
