Works like a champ. Manual file is old school and fine if you have the time but if you want to sharpen those teeth and get to cutting like butta fast this is an excellent inexpensive investment that will pay you back in time . Easy to use the gauge and guide are great once around is all you need.

I've been fighting with the sharpening chainsaws for many years. Using a file never worked for me nor did using it with a file guide. I gave up and I would just took it to a chainsaw shop and have them sharpen it. But no one where I live now offered that service, they just want you to buy a new chain. I purchased this kit and the result was great on the first try; it was just as sharp as a new chain.

Works okay. comes with multiple file sizes so fits most chains okay. Guide is just okay as you have to manually line up the bar with the guide angle lines for each tooth to sharpen. Takes a while to sharpen but very little "work". Definitely helped with 2 very dull chains so far but not as fast or as effective in getting a really sharp chain as I hoped

If you own a chainsaw, you need this. I love in northern Minnesota and cutting wood is a weekly chore. This makes it so much easier and quicker. Filing by hand is inaccurate and takes a lot of time. With this tool I can sharpen the teeth in seconds per tooth and hold it at the perfect angle.

This was worth every penny! My husband used to take his chains to a local shop to get them sharpened. Each time it cost him $5-$10. This sharpener has already paid for itself. The instructions are easy to read and the design makes it pretty simple to use. We haven’t had it for very long but he’s sharpened all of his own chains and several of his buddies chains, so it seems like it’s pretty durable. Overall it’s an excellent purchase. Highly recommend.

Worked well at first but soon after the locking mechinism quit working so I couldn't change the bits. I only used it a few times so it was not a great purchase for the money.
