I’ve run a lot of bar and chain oils over the years, and most “eco-friendly” ones sacrifice performance. This one doesn’t. The DEWALT biodegradable bar & chain oil holds up like a traditional petroleum-based oil—good tackiness, stays on the chain, and doesn’t sling everywhere. Used it on both a gas chainsaw and a cordless pole saw, and it fed consistently with no dry spots or overheating. Chain stayed properly lubricated even during longer cuts, and I didn’t have to constantly reapply or baby it. Big upside is it’s non-toxic and biodegradable, which matters if you’re cutting around your yard, near plants, or anywhere runoff is a concern. No harsh smell either. Viscosity is right in that sweet spot—not too thick in colder temps, not too thin when it warms up. It’s been reliable across different conditions so far. I’ve been very happy with this DEWALT bar and chain oil. It keeps my chainsaw running smoothly, provides excellent lubrication, and noticeably reduces friction during longer cutting sessions. The chain stays well-oiled without excessive splatter, and cleanup is easy. One of the biggest reasons I chose this product is that it’s biodegradable and non-toxic, so I feel much better using it around my yard without worrying as much about the environmental impact.
