Update 10/8/18-Wheels continue to come apart, making chair unstable. Contacted customer service on 10/2 regarding the wheel/caster issue and still have had no response. Will never purchase another Vertagear product again. Update-Wheel issue is now a safety issue. Wheels pop off suddenly, making the chair very unstable, nearly tipping over. Submitted a question to customer service two days ago, asking if better casters/wheels are available and no response. Downgrading my review until I at least hear from Vertagear. Comfort is okay and may get better over time. Previous reviews noted the firmness of the padding and I expect it will improve the more it is used. Assembly is relatively easy but I did install the chair back tilt mechanism backward initially (never did notice the arrow on the part that is mentioned in the instructions). My main issue is the wheels. Each wheel is a two part assembly that snaps into place onto a horizontal metal axle. Only had the chair for a couple weeks now but as the chair is moved around ( I use a semi rigid chair mat over carpet), the wheels separate and fall off. Requires frequently laying the chair down and popping the wheels back into place. For the price of the chair, I expect a better design and durability.

Chair is perfect for larger frame bodies. I'm 5'9" 150lbs with inseam leg size 30 and it's comfortable but just barely. At the lowest height setting my leg/foot lands perfectly flat. I wish it was a couple inches lower and the seat base angled slightly back or give some more support under the front thigh area. It sits fine as a 90 angle at your knees but I tend to lean back when I'm working long hours and this doesn't go back easily even with the adjustment at the softest setting. Once I prop the back support to a wider angle then it starts to lean back more easily, but not at the highest setting. I'm wondering if the SL4000 would fit me better. Also change out the casters, the included ones look like cheap plastic and already had some scratches/cut pieces on them. I didnt't even bother installing them and bought the LIFELONG clear casters on amazon and they are butter smooth and actually have a slight resistance which helps me not roll off on hardwood floors. The rest of the chair quality feels very premium.

I have now had this chair for 4 months, and its still intact with daily use of 5+ hours. The quality of this product is very high, the chair is very durable and as descried by Vertagear. The SL5000 provides alot of seating room with adjustable handles and reclining, as well as raising and lower the chair. Installation is very simple and takes no longer than 10 minutes. Package is very heavy and very bulky! I would highly recommend this chair for individuals who wish to correct their posture and for individuals who spend long hours at the desk for work or even gaming! **11/13/2018 UPDATE** The chair is still in great shape, the reclining function has become a little rough even tho I usually do not use the function. The wheels have started shredding greatly! Chipping in small fragments throughout even when the chair is not even being moved around. The chair has stayed on a flat surface and yet the product wheels seem to be deteriorating at an increased rate!

Assembly is straightforward and can be accomplished in just a few minutes. The parts come out of the box in the order they need to be assembled, and to make sure none of the hardware is lost/missing, with the exception of the four screws needed to tighten the chair back, the mounting screws are installed in the holes where they need to go. Only one tool (a hex key) is required, and is included. The installation manual is written in several different languages with detailed pictures of the process. Build quality is excellent, and the materials used are of good quality, ensuring many years of use.

Bought this chair after days of researching chairs. Was looking for something that was both comfortable & supportive (while not being too expensive) as I spend hours at a time sitting at my desk. It was incredibly easy to assemble as the instructions were very easy to read & follow. Upon 1st sitting on it the seat cushion was a little firmer than i expected but after a few days of breaking it in, it is really comfortable. It has various positions to adjust to your desired sitting position. The armrest can be adjusted up/down, front/back, in/out, and angled. The backrest adjusts to numerous angles to fit any position that you may find comfortable (I like to sit straight up when I'm studying or working on something & recline to different levels when I'm gaming depending on the game). It really holds up well, after months of use the chair still looks as though it just came out of the box. The only negative (i won't dock a star as it didn't affect me personally) is that it specifically states its a Large chair when Tall would be more accurate. As someone who is 5'6 & not that big, this chair would not be comfortable if I was just a little bit wider as the metal bars in the edge of the seat that come up would make contact with my hips & most likely hurt (or at least feel bothersome) after extended sitting periods.

I really like this chair! I love the head rest and arch support pillows. I am a heavy set guy so I saw complaints the chair would be too narrow for bigger guys. But I found that an additional seat cushion works out. Now I came from a basic off brand chair and the difference is night and day. The base is metal! So that's a win if your a big person. Next the arm rest is multi-directional so PLUS! Overall if you need a quality gaming chair and your on the heavy side give this a shot you won't be disappointed.
