This lock has a lot to recommend it. Very solid feel. Can lock and unlock from your phone or using Alexa. Fingerprint reader. However... there are 3 reasons that we returned the lock. 1) First, ours was defective. We set up the wi-fi, and the lock was installed 14 feet from our router. However, every time (like, 15 times) that we tried to set up the fingerprint reader it would error with a wi-fi message. 2) I am confident that every lock that I have owned or used in the last 60 years had one thing in common... you could look at the lockset and see if the door was locked or not. Makes sense. But Veise figured it was time to change that up. On their locks if you need to know if the lockset is locked or not you can get out your phone and check the app; you can ask Alexa (however that gave us wrong answers sometimes); or you can push the button for 2 seconds and the lock will change modes and tell you what the new mode is. So if it was locked, and you want it locked, you'd then have to hold the button for another 2 seconds to hear that it was now locked again. Really? I small green LED would be 100x more convenient. 3) We have bought a number of Schlage digital locks in the past 10 years. If it is dark when you are coming home you can press a small button at the top of the keypad to light up the keys. On this lock, there is no dedicated button for that, so you need to very lightly touch the keypad to light up the keys. But... it is dark!! About half the time I'd touch the keypad a bit too hard and it would register as a keypress. And, of course, never the 1st # in my code. So you need to hit some key 3 times, then the checkbox, to get that to fail, so that you could then enter your code with the (now) illuminated keys. 90% great... 10% unusable (for us).
