Awesome double burner to pull out and quickly make syrups, foams, oleos, cordials, etc. at your home bar! I love not having to go up and down the stairs (my bar is upstairs) to make what I need, carrying all my equipment and ingredients back and forth, and taking up space in the kitchen if it is already being used at a party. (I know, first world problems). It's compact enough to fit horizontally in a standard undercabinet, while leaving you plenty of space to store things on top of it. The functionality is great--you can move between levels from 1 to 9, or you can select based on temperature if you're shooting for a certain range. Plugs right in to a standard outlet and starts right up. Its not very heavy and all, and I like that it is still big enough to keep other things from being too close and getting burned. An unused burner can also act as a nice tabletop for your ingredients while you're cooking. Price point is pretty good, I'd say, for the versatility and portability. Probably great for a glamping trip if you have a power source that can sustain it. The two things that takes this from a 5 to a 4 are: 1) for all the lights and buttons it has, it doesn't have any light-based signal that the burner is still hot. Obviously you can know that it is, if you remember. But they should really have a temperature sensor that stays near the device that stays lit if the sensed temperature is above a certain amount--as it is you are left wondering if it has cooled down enough yet to begin packing it away. To me this is a safety issue that could (and should) have been resolved easily in design. 2) The instructions just lack that translation quality that most chinese products do. Overall, though, it has really helped me out and streamlined my supplemental ingredient-making process. I think with a couple improvements it would easily be a 5, and home bartenders might enjoy having it.

NOT an induction plate. Which means it gets very hot. Not what I was looking for in a portable induction heater because of the danger of a long cooling off period. It looks like an induction either too, which means it’s just begging for kids to reach up and grab it. It works well, but I could’ve gotten a portable conventional burner for less money. On the other hand, this will work with other parts that an induction heater will not work with. But they did not make it clear inthe listing

The media could not be loaded. Overall, this hot plate works well. My primary issue is that I bought this specifically to experience induction cooking before committing to replacing my current stove. The title of the album specifically says Induction, but if you look down in the listing it says: "This portable cooktop stove electric stovetop features infrared heating, and the special panel design is suitable for all pots and pans to be heated." I did try it out cooking my omelets this morning and it worked well. It took a few button presses to get it set up like I wanted. The manual was of limited help as some of the translations are creative. The beeping every time you press a button is also a bit annoying and I don't think there is a way to disable it. I did manage to set it to fry at the lowest setting - which is what I wanted. The heat was good and even. It took about 20 minutes for the cooktop to cool down enough to touch. An induction-only cooktop would cool down in a few moments. Bottom line, I'm knocking off one star for the inaccurate description in the title. If you are looking for a good cooktop that works with all pans and don't care that it's not induction, that it's a 5 star. It is light and not too large. Overall, I do recommend it but just make sure you are getting what you want.
