I purchased this Vayepro hot plate because I saw it in YouTube videos of a cooking account I follow and watched it boil water and other liquids in every video. The knob stays cool, food gets hot, and water boils in the same amount of time as on the stove. I've cooked ground beef in a frying pan for tacos, boiled pierogis, spaghetti, baby carrots (not at the same time!). I'm going to buy another one before Thanksgiving. I purchased one from another company around the same time because they had one on sale, and it was a big mistake. The other brand's hot plate got really really hot. When a little water splashed on it, it burned a big burn mark into it, the water sizzled up, hit my arm, and then the knob burned me when i tried to turn it down. If you were thinking about trying out different brands, don't look any further. Just buy from Vayepro. They also offer an extended warranty if you send them an email! Great company! I purchased this hot plate for my small kitchen in garage. I like to cook various delicious dishes, which sometimes spread the smell throughout the house. The hot plate has a compact design and takes up very little space in my small kitchen. The housing is made of stainless steel painted in a noble black color (also available in pure white), very durable and easy to clean. The The convenient thermostat knob, made of anti-scalding material, allows you to set the temperature of the 7.1 inch cast iron heating element in a wide range for frying, boiling, reheating or slow cooking any food. The built-in temperature indicator turns on and off periodically to automatically maintain the desired temperature. When set to MAX, it takes approximately 5 minutes to reach the maximum temperature. The hot plate cools down in about 15 to 20 minutes and the food stays warm longer. The hot plate is compatible with all types of flat bottom cookware: steel, cast iron, aluminum, glass. After purchase, you get a 12-month warranty along with an 18-month extension option. I cook outdoors no matter what season and this completes my kitchen area! Heats up fairly quick, I turned it on max setting to get the pan hot, prepped everything & then threw in my veggies in my pan & cooked dinner in no time! We're remodeling our kitchen and my wife bought this as a small stand-in since we didn't have a cooktop, an oven, or a microwave after we did the demolition. I was never a fan of these (years ago) and I didn't expect much performance from it but now that I've used it several times for boiling water, sauteing veggies and meats, I'm very impressed. I've used this indoors and outdoors next to my bbq grille. I like it so much that I'll continue to use it outdoors as a compliment to my grille. For it's small size, I'm very impressed with how fast it heats up and well you can control the temperature. I bought this specifically so I could cook outside because I have inadequate venting in my house so anytime I use my cast-iron pan to grill meat, my smoke detector is too sensitive and goes off. I really liked using this since it is small and easy to carry. I was able to use it inside a hotel room and it felt like I was doing indoor camping. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that it doesn't come with a travel bag to store it in when not in use and I had to make my own bag. I compared this one to the other one I have and this one takes a little more than 1 hour to boil a large pot of water. My older one takes 30 min. Overall itโ€™s not a bad product. One thing that I like about it that itโ€™s very quiet. My other one makes too much noise.
