I don't think this would be a good option for someone who would put a LOT of weight or force on it, but I tightened it and secured it myself and had no trouble using it for myself. My tub is a bubbler and jetted one, and as you can see in the picture, has a lip on the sides. I wasn't sure this product would work, but decided to give it a try because the clamp adjustment went out to 7 inches to attach to a tub surround. The only thing we did was reverse the clamp side to the inside of the tub as the clamp side is longer to reach beyond the lip to secure better. I like that it is a heavier metal (vs plastic), hold well and tight and the maximum weight it handles is 300 pounds. I have had trouble getting out of the tub even with a wall safety bar since a knee replacement and this product assists me very well to manage on my own. ... show more

I’m mid age, healthy and having a surgery so this is preemptive care and could not get the screw loose to even put it over my tub at first. I had to have help. It was on SO tight. I can’t imagine an older or frail person trying to unscrew it. Once I got it unscrewed assembly was quick and it seem like it will be a good product. ... show more

It was so incredibly easy to follow the great instructions and it probably took me 1 minute to totally install. It is tight and I feel so secure grasping it getting in or out of the tub.
