This bike is awesome! This is kinda a long review but I want to give as many details as I can. A lot of reviews I've seen don't really mention details and that was frustrating when I was researching. This is my first e bike and it has everything I wanted (500watt motor, step over style frame, rear rack, headlight & tail light, LCD screen, detachable battery, good range) and isn't as expensive as I've seen for other e bikes. Also since I am 5'1" with around 27" inseam, I wanted a bike that wouldn't be too big and is adjustable, which this bike is. I can't put my feet completely flat on the ground but it's not that big of a deal. Putting the bike together took me about 2hrs but I wasn't trying to do it fast. I had to watch the video on the product listing to figure a couple things out. I also added a basket to the front from an old bike and it fit perfectly. It was nice that the battery came mostly charged so I could try the bike right away after putting it together. I've ridden the bike a few times now and was able to go around 30mi on one charge with a mixture of pedal assist and throttle on mostly flat bike paths. I think if you only used level 1 or 2 pedal assist you'd go much farther in one charge. (But I might try to buy a spare battery in case I want to go on really long rides since my area has a ton of interconnected bike paths.) I like that the pedal assist level is also the level of throttle. My sister's other brand e bike has the throttle at only one speed (highest speed) and I like that I can control this one and not go too fast. Level 1 pedal assist/throttle goes around 7mph compared to my sister's other brand ebike which will go to 12mph on level 1. I like that the pedal assist has more gradual speed increase as you go up the levels. I have the option to use less assistance, go at a more leisurely pace on throttle, or go really fast. Also assistance level 5 does get up to 20mph as they claim. I haven't tried the bike at night so I can't comment on how well the headlight works but the tail light works well. And the tail light is different than the one that was in the pictures but I think I like how this one looks better anyway. Even if you don't have the headlight on, the tail light lights up when you use the brakes so that's nice for safety and people behind you. A couple things I am not a fan of: The throttle isn't immediate, it kinda takes a half second before it starts. The seat is not as comfortable as it could be for longer rides but you can get a seat pad to help with that. Overall I would highly recommend this e bike to anyone starting out! The few cons I listed don't really detract from the rating in my opinion. It has everything you'd need, and at the price (~$310 plus $170 shipping when I purchased it) it's a steal compared to similar e bikes. ... show more

Bike arrived with damaged part,company not only apologized but sent a replacement part,including parts that may have been compromised. I could not have hoped for a better outcome. I love my bike I ride it at least 3 to 4 times a week, so comfortable and everywhere I go people comment or ask about it. I researched a bit prior to purchase and this bike both quality and feature wise would have easily cost double what I paid. If my wife wants a bike it will unquestionably be a Varun!! ... show more

I don't know how you can ask for more and spend $1,200 - $1,600 unless you want a lighter weight carbon fiber frame, etc.. These bikes are rock solid, can be had for $299 if you catch them on sale ($170 shipping) and even with shipping they are cheaper than some conversion kits and fully accessorized. 3 riding modes, headlight/tail light/kickstand/disc brakes/etc. Just added a different (layback) seat post for a more relaxed riding position and a rear view mirror. Can hit 21 mph, and 5 assist speeds and I've yet to knock the battery down more than two bars in a single riding day. ... show more

Impossible to put together with instructions as they are for a different model. The instructions are "first put this together, then this" with no actual direction on how.. the videos are not useful as they skip over key parts. The battery also won't charge and the instructions for troubleshooting that are for another bike. Have reached out to the sellers... i don't feel safe gifting this to my mom. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I selected a few similar cruiser/mountain/street ebikes while helping a friend to decide what she wanted to eventually get. She happened to be out of town when I ordered her bike. I took many factors into account for an ebike for her and the hilly area where she lives. I put about 5 miles on this bike before she picked it up and she immediately put another 10 miles on it with a smile. Assembly was easy and straight forward. Some deformation of plastic fenders was noticeable after unpacking, but a couple days of use and some warm sunshine fixed that. I feel that the battery and electronics positioning on this bike are superior as far as safety is concerned. I fine tuned the brake adjustment after the first ride and my friend is set to go. ... show more

For the price point it's probably the best ebike you can get, it seems built decent and runs well, I'm pretty sure it's a 350 with a max of 500 not an actual 500 but I expected that when I bought it based on the price, I'll update after using it for a few months to see if it still meets quality, it gets up to 20mph and ghost peddles pretty bad at 4th and 5th, putting it together it's pretty simple I recommend having someone help but you can do it yourself it'll just take a little longer ... show more

Love this bike for exercise and local commuting. We sold our second car recently because we seldom drove it and it made no sense to pay insurance for something that just sat there. But there are times when the wife and I are not together so getting to walmart, or going to the dentist is a breeze.
