I have owned a number of battery jump starters, this being my 5th one. I’ve had compact ones that haven’t lasted more than a year and large power station style ones that work well but are a pain to lug around. The Vantrue JS1 jump starter pack brings the best of both together with the more compact size (9” x 3 3/4” x 1 1/2”) while still packing a punch. The larger power station style batteries use lead acid while the JS1 uses lithium batteries, ensuring that it will last many times longer. I’ve had issues for a few seasons with my riding lawn mower battery not charging, so I’ve simply resorted to jump starting the mower rather than an expensive replacement. Over that time, I’ve experienced the pros and cons of compact vs power station style jump starters. When I received the JS1, it was already at 75% charge, so I immediately tried to jump my mower to test it out. The JS1 was easy to hook up. While another commenter noted the short jumper cord, it’s actually about three times the length of the prior two compact jump starters I owned. The JS1 packs a whopping 3000A starting current, far more than the 1000A put out by my power station. It also has a 20,000mAH capacity, making this more than just a jump starter, but also an emergency power pack for charging numerous electronics from cell phones to laptops. The JS1 comes with a USB-C port along with two USB-A ports, along with a DC port for other types of accessories. The rugged case is rated at IP-65, so you don’t need to handle this with kid gloves. The only criticism I have is with the flashlight. The 5 way setting works well, and I appreciate the flashing red light as a roadside warning light, but this won’t replace your flashlight. It gives off decent light, but the frosted lense and broad range makes it best suited for lighting your engine bay only. The most important thing with a jump starter pack is that it retain it’s power over a long period of time while left in a car without recharging. This is supposed to last 12 months, which makes sense given that while lithium batteries lose 2-3% of charge per month, the capacity of this battery means that there should be plenty left at the 12 month mark. Time will tell if this holds true, but from what I’ve seen so far I have confidence it will. ... show more

    • THESE WORK, I was skeptical but DANG!!!!!! This is awesome
My 2019 Tacoma battery was failing and Autozone kept telling me it just needed to be charged. I charged it up over night and went to my daughters (about 30 miles away) and GUESS WHAT!!!!! yup, complete failure to start. I parked too far away for their Die Hard battery charger / Jump Starter to reach with their extension cord. I had used my die hard 110 v jump starter several times the past few months to start the truck and I was a bit frustrated that they didn't have an extension cord long enough..... Then I remembered I had this portable jump starter. I got it out of the back of the cab and kinda scoffed because I was sure it was junk and wouldn't work. WOW, this thing started the truck in seconds! It did a better job than the 110 v Die Hard Jump Starter. I WAS ABSOUTELY AMAZED. The next morning, I got to try it again (WITHOUT RECHARGING THE DEVICE) because I was driving my truck to get a new battery (DESPITE WHAT AUTOZONE TELLS ME). It fired the Tacoma up just as quickly as it did before. I'm really amazed by this little device and so glad I have it in my car. If I ever see anyone with a dead battery in the grocery store parking lot I will be happy to help them with this easy to use device. ... show more
