This Vangoa is a great little uke for a low price, couldn't be more pleased with the look and feel of this pretty little okoume laminate concert with the very nice comfort edge and plenty of well-done rope binding bling, now that I've put some good Martin strings on it. The strings it came with weren't holding a tune for more than 7 seconds after a couple hours of messing with them constantly, and i didn't know if it was the tuners or the strings, so i opted to replace the strings immediately and find out. Because I have lots of ukes in all the sizes, I have lots of strings on hand. SUCCESS! I perform and teach uke and believe in spending good money for quality instruments, but some of my students are reluctant to spend on the pricier instruments I recommend and so I decided to try this one out and see if it might be good enough to recommend as a low-dollar starter uke. The initial sound was quiet & thin and not impressive to ears accustomed to a richer resonance from ukes with solid wood soundboards, but an hour later the $10 set of new Martin concert strings was making a huge difference! Noticeably louder, with a much sweeter and richer sound. FUN to play and sing with now! Strings settled in well within 24 hours and the tuners are holding the pitch real well. I've ordered a bone nut and saddle for it and will see if another little $8 fix bumps it up even more. The tuner it comes with is working well, will put a new battery in it soon, as it recommends. The 2 strap buttons and strap would be handy for younger players. This is a pretty good deal for the money, IF you change the strings immediately and toss the extra set it comes with and get a good set of Martins or Aquilas to have on hand for the next change. The string change is pretty easy cuz of the pegs and there are string beads on the existing strings that can be re-used on the new set to save on knot tying. One of the reasons I decided to try it was the pegs on the beautifully shaped bridge. I like that string system best. Hard to tell how it'll hold up over time and playing, but right now it looks, feels and sounds like a pretty good investment. I might order another one, in the red and black colors! Way to go, Vangoa! This is my first experience with this ukulele brand.

Looks nice, got compliments. Tuner is good, can be used for different musical instruments, too. Over all it is nice product! Love it!

I play many instruments, but first venture into strings. So thought I was starting cheaply to see if I liked idea. This Vangoa turned out to be excellent! Good case, tuner, strap, extra strings. I like the workmanship and beveled edge where right arm rests. But, best of all is I think it has very good sound quality. Full and pleasant. (Caution, I at not have the best ear for tone--too many years playing bagpipes, fifes, and horns.) But, I can say my wife actually wants me to play this instrument. If I could only sing (sigh). I recommend this Uke for beginners and regular playing enjoyment. And outstanding cost. Watch out, you'll end up spending a lot more on music books!
