I got this to replace my old Amazon Basics portable AC and it's been working great. It's a lot smaller, quieter, and lighter. I put my AC on top of my dresser so that the water drain can go out through the window. The Amazon Basics AC was so heavy that I can't lift it onto the dresser on my own. With this VAGKRI AC, I can just lift it up on my own. The drain hole on my old AC was also very finnicky. I had to adapt a water hose onto it in order for it to stay on. It looks like it'll stay on but it's not tight. I'm always afraid it's going to come off. I don't have this worry with this AC. This AC is rated for a 350 sq. ft. room and has kept my 250 sq. ft. room nice and cool. The lower BTU also means it's a lot quieter. Sometimes I just use the dehumidifier function instead of the actual AC function and it feels like the AC is on. I also like that the AC turns off when the room temperature hits the suggested temperature. This is good for energy saving. One of the thing that always bothers me with my older portable AC is the vent that goes on the window. It's a screw on with dedicated holes so it's always hard to get it snug on the window and is always a pain to screw it into place. This one is a thumb screw so I can get it as snug as I need it and it's super easy to adjust. I'm very pleased I got this new AC. Works perfectly for my purpose. ... show more

I purchased the VAGKRI Portable Air Conditioner 8000 BTU and it failed after purchase. To make matters worse, Amazon is selling these faulty products without providing any real technical support from the manufacturer. I called Amazon customer support, and they told me to Google the manufacturer myself to try to get help. Totally unacceptable! I do NOT recommend this brand at all. there is a complete lack of communication and no support for buyers. Stay away from this product and brand ... show more

We live in a 2 family house that’s over 100 years old. It’s brick so it holds heat like it’s nobody’s business great in the winter but summers, not so much. It’s a flat so the living room and dining room are open to each other. We bought a big mamma jamma last summer that did an awesome job of cooling down maybe 1 1/2 rooms so we needed another ac but a smaller one and after having a portable one, buying a window unit, just no. We have window units in each bedroom but they’re so heavy and a pain in the a$$ to carry down from the attic and put them in the window, you guys know the drill. My husband wanted another LG $650 unit and I said we really didn’t need another one. The one we have is great we just need a little extra something something. So when I saw this I figured let’s try it. Never heard of the brand before but had good reviews. We’ve had it about 3 months now and the only thing I’m not a fan of is the water, we have the hose in a bucket hidden in our end table that we hooked up and it’s not a small bucket it’s a big a$$ bucket. It’s full in 2 days or less where the bigger one takes a week or 2 sometimes to fill. Other than that it’s great. We’ve had no issues with it. The house is cold, no cool but cold. So for a smaller room or back up to 2 big rooms, we also have 13 foot ceilings so it’s a large area to cool, definitely worth it. ... show more

    • Very good portable AC
This portable air conditioner works very well. It easy to set up although the directions are somewhat sparse (e.g., the directions do not tell you that you may have to cut down the sliding piece in the window kit in order to make the kit fit your window). The unit weighs under 50 lbs and is easy to roll on wheels in order to move it. It is quiet and does a great job cooling the proper size room (not more than 300 sq ft). I had a problem with the unit but found customer service to be very prompt in replying to me, and very responsive and helpful. I received a full refund and ordered a second unit which works perfectly. I recommend this AC. ... show more

Oh boy, where to start? The unit leaked, all over the floor, on cool, not dehumidify, so I put it up on a glass table. Put on the drain hose and ran it into a bucket. Still leaks under the unit and will run off and onto the floor. I got in touch with the company, they told me I must not have the hose on tight. (It is) Regardless, it shouldn't leak when on cool all the time. Also, the temperature doesn't set correctly. My whole house thermostat (in same room) will read 77 and I have to turn this unit down to 70 to get it to come on. And then it never shuts off unless I turn it off. The only good thing is the nice blast of cool air when I come in from outside. Worth almost $300??? No way. Too difficult to try to repackage to send back, so I am stuck with it. Bypass this machine and find another. UPDATE: Seller saw my review and reached out to me with kind and respectful correspondence to reimburse me for the faulty unit. Wonderful how they care.
