  • Long flight time, V-shaped > much more fun to fly, Beginner friendly
The media could not be loaded. Creativity rises from innovations. The unique drone flight experience has given me new thoughts on what a drone could do and why I need one. FLIGHT TIME 50mins non-stop flying defines the drone experience, especially the first few times. This is my third drone, not counting the number of sports cameras that I had over the years. I would say lack of enough time to test the basic moves, fly out and back and shoot some total amateur footage was the number one reason I got stuck at the first mile. Once you run out of battery, it means another 30-45mins wait time until a second chance. So having more flight time means you could get yourself equipped with sufficient knowledge before going out for a shooting or playing day. PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTs: [Noise control] Thanks to the 2 two propeller arms design, now we finally have a drone that does not have a "take-off scene", which is more crowd friendly. [Stabilization] Also when doing a full brake or start, the main body swings back and forth a little, but it does not affect the video recording at all. Also when the drone is moving, the whole drone seems locked into a moving position and flies as stable as a 4-arm drome. [Controller] Super easy to set up, works the same as most remote controllers do. Come with a compact design that you could unscrew the thumbstick and store it at the back of the controller, which makes it ultimately backpack friendly. Overall, I very much enjoyed taking out the drone to explore remote places so far. Definitely looking forward to more sessions. I would recommend this drone to someone who would like to try new products and explore the fun but not complexity of leading-edge technology. ... show more

  • Manufacturer is non-responsive and might no longer be in business
On the first flight, the drone malfunctioned and flew erratically with no input from the controller. Attempts to contact support failed. Emails bounced and phone calls said "This number has been disconnected." This was to be my second of these, and the first is very impressive and works great. However, with zero support from the manufacturer, I can't recommend getting one. ... show more

  • New Bi-copter Drone with 2019 Technology
I own several drones (quads) and bought the V-Coptr Falcon for the ingenious design and the 50 minutes battery. It looks like the Star Trek Enterprise. I load the flying App, installed the Flykit in my computer and update the firmware. After calibrating the IMU and the Compass, I take the Falcon for a spin. The first problem that I found was the phone app. Every 3 or 5 minutes it crashes, leaving me in the dark without the necessary telemetry and vision. Definitely the phone app needs some work. Not very responsive and it crashes. The collision avoidance system is too much aggressive, making very difficult to fly the drone back. Because the design, it swings like a hammock when the winds blows. The RTH landing lacks of precision, missing the spot by 6 - 8 feet. Even with 50 minutes battery, the range from the take off site is very short. After 3 more flying tests, I returned it. I was afraid to crash the drone with all the moving parts that have in the motors. Yes, too many moving parts in the motors that can fail. I would keep it, but not for $899.00 USD, taking in consideration that is a 2019 drone. I considered this drone in the $500 - $700 range. ... show more

  • Not Ready for Prime Time
If being slightly quieter than a competitor’s drone or having a flight time for a single battery that is 50 minutes instead of 30 minutes is important to you, you just might want to consider this drone. If you are serious about your photographs and/or videos, forget about it. Right from the start I had problems. The printed instructions that come with the craft are meager, and don’t cover any of the questions I would like to have answered. Luckily, this is my 10th drone so I had enough experience to figure some things out. I downloaded the V-coptr app and after reading and agreeing to a license that gave ZeroZero rights to everything the drone could ever learn including my phone number, the same information as the inadequate manual was repeated. But when I tried to link the controller and the drone, I got an instruction that the drone and the controller had different software versions and that I should download the “FLYKIT” software from the manufacturer’s web site. When I typed the ZeroZero URL into my browser, the browser warned me several times that this was a dangerous site. Stupidly, I overrode the browser, and navigated through the manufacturer’s site, each time with dire warnings. When I started to download the FLYKIT Norton warned me of danger, and I had to override Norton. (What risks I take for you, dear reader.) I installed the software and ran it, and all I got was a graphic, and a line that said the software was for the Falcon and the Blastoff Controller. I finally spied a help button. I clicked on it, and navigated through several more menus on the ZeroZero websites, with threats from my browser of impossible destruction. There was no help. Then I tried FLYKIT today and it linked to the controller and updated it. It told me to update the drone too. When I tried, all I got was the spinner and the comment “Identifying Device”. I ran the V-coptr app on my phone again. I tried the link again and got the same message, but I kept clicking various OK buttons, and after six or seven clicks, suddenly the screen showed me the camera view and said I was ready to fly. I knew enough to look in the settings and see a setting for obstacle avoidance. I turned it on. I found that when the drone approached within six feet of any obstacle, it didn’t avoid; it came to a complete halt. When I tried to land, the drone stopped six feet off the ground. I had to turn off obstacle avoidance to land! I had inserted a micro SDHC card into the drone, but when I looked for a button or slider or menu to format the card, I couldn't find one at first. Eventually I found that there was a menu marked "me" that included an item that allowed me to see the status of both internal memory and external memory, as well as another to clear the cache. At first the drone did not recognize the card but after inserting the card several times and turning menus on and off the card was recognized and formatted. Then came another shock. If I wanted to shoot 4K I could only use 30 frames a second. The camera exposure settings are all in a program mode. You can only change the settings the camera picks by exposure value and then whether to change shutter speed or ISO is up to the drone. You can’t select the ISO or shutter speed. There goes the use of the twice-the FPS for a filmic look. For what it’s worth, the drone flies and responds to the controls, if a bit slowly. I didn’t try things like long distance flying since the FAA requires line of sight operations. I didn’t even bother to try the special modes. As a video camera, the machine was of little use to me. When I tried to set it up to take photos, I again had no exposure choices. There was a setting for RAW in the menu, but I couldn’t get the app to make the change. I want a good flying video camera. This device did not meet that need. This was particularly surprising because the DJI Air 2S provides everything this device is lacking as a camera (and more, like real obstacle avoidance), for 200 bucks less. If lower sound volume and 50 minutes are your thing you might want this device, especially if you don't mind totally inadequate written instructions and a camera without much control, and a higher price than more capable drones. I’m thinking of giving this drone to my grandson as a plaything. ... show more
