These are truly beautiful lamps. Recently, I purchased a couch that was a dark chocolate color. I would have preferred lighter, but it wasn't available and the couch had features I couldn't find in any other one. My floor is light beige. In order to lighten the couch, I put teal throw pillows on it. Of course, after I did that, my lamps didn't match (does this sound like an old vaudeville routine where I wind up replacing everything in the room?). I checked online and found these lamps on another website. I never buy anything elsewhere without checking on Amazon first. The price was the same and Amazon is my preferred vendor. Fortunately for me, there were two in the warehouse that were reduced in price, but I would have bought them full price and would have been more than happy. The only problem I found was that the lampshade is a beautiful beige, but it is a beautiful beige suede which blocks a lot of light. The good news is that it takes 100 watt bulbs. I had to go through a couple of different bulbs to get the right color light, but it was worth it. The natural slate in these lamps pick up the teal of the throw pillows and the beige off the floor and seem to lighten the couch area because of it. The copper adds a beautiful warmth to the whole thing. There is a glass bell type of bulb cover on which the shade sits that is another beautiful touch. I really love these lamps more than I thought I would. Update: Still loving the lamps, but the suede shade really does dim the lights, even with a 100W bulb. I'm going to go to an energy efficient type of bulb that uses as close to the 100W as I can get, but has the lumens much higher. Keeping my fingers crossed. ... show more

Gorgeous lamp, looks even better than the picture. There are a couple of reasons why I didn't give 5 stars. The bulb base is crooked, so the bulb sits at an angle inside the glass globe under the shade. The glass globe is fully enclosed, so even if you use an LED bulb, it should be rated for a fully enclosed fixture. The glass globe is weird and unnecessary. The shade is so opaque that it obscures a lot of light, so you need to use a brighter bulb than you would think. Nevertheless, the lamp is a real show stopper. ... show more

I needed to pull some deep green into my room decor and eyed these lamps for over a year. I wasn't sure if the slate would be mossy-deep green or more of a blue turquoise. After reading many reviews that reported the photos were true to the actual lamp color, I purchased two. They arrived today and WOW! They exceed my expectations. Very eye-catching, unique with lots of interesting textures. They set the tone of the room - I couldn't be happier. I ordered on Monday, they arrived on Friday (free shipping). Well packaged - yet easy to unwrap. I never take time to write reviews but these deserve special mention. They are a bit pricey, but worth every penny.!!! ... show more

Unusual design, hand made, so there are slight differences in each one. Would have given it 5 stars, but the on/off switch seems very week and doesn't work very well - maybe because it's designed as an outdoor lamp.

Nice materials that make the lamp, but disappointed that one lamp has putty or resin that holds slate together and overlaps copper details. One shade doesnโ€™t fit and stay balanced or straight.

This is a beautiful lamp. I bought two for my end tables. They don't scream "look at me" but are quietly elegant and substantial. The copper and slate go perfectly together. The shade is a soft brown. I love them.

The lamps are very attractive. However if you need a pair, this is not the way to go. The two lamps I bought had two different levels of translucency. With the light on, the bulb is visible through one and not the other. If you only need one these are probably fine.
