It’s a fun wooden-looking box that displays the time when plugged in. No apparent screen but the digital display is perfect size. It has backup battery so that if unplugged you won’t have to reset the clock or alarms. It’s super easy to function because I was able to set the time / alarm without needing to read the instructions booklet. The time display can be brightened or dimmed quickly. Bought to replace one with blue lights. I love this clock. For reference, I purchased the light natural one with soft white lights. This clock is dimmable to the point it’s not intrusive to sleep or blinding at night! That alone is priceless. During the day it can be adjusted to really bright. I personally leave it low all the time and it blends beautifully with the decor. The size is perfect, not obnoxious and not so tiny I can’t see it. It’s incredibly clear, easy to set up. Now I've only had it for a month or so, so I can't speak on anything like durability and longevity, but this clock is honestly a must need for any room that doesn't have a clock. It's so visible from across the room. Not to mention being able to have it be as dim as you want is super useful if you're like me who likes their room being pretty dark when they sleep. It's significantly helped me look at my phone less in the middle of the night since that's how I was originally checking the time. It's just as pretty in person as it is in the pictures. The only thing to note is that the DST indicator is consistently active when you press the DST button. If that is something you don't visually like, you'd have to manually change the hour during the time changes. This doesn't bother me but it might bother others so I figured I'd share that because I didn't see many reviews stating otherwise. In general, I would fully recommend this clock for how cute, legible and convenient it is. I have it for my bedroom and living room because my experience was so good for my use case. I’ve been having this for almost a year, but there’s just one issue. There’s no option to make the time go down, it only goes up, so it takes a bit longer to set the time or set an alarm. Surprised with the nice looks and quality. This model has a smooth dial for selecting brightness, unlike other brands with 5 settings. This was the selling point for me because I want to exactly control the brightness. You can make it very dim to be viewable only when it is dark (during the day it just looks like a small rectangle of wood on your nightstand) or make it bright enough to see in all lighting up to fully bright rooms. It has a battery backup which will continue to keep track of the time during a power outage and when the power returns, the time will be correct..BUT during the loss of power, the display is blank. You can change to DST just by pressing a button, very convenient. I use my iphone as my alarm clock because it is so customizable so I don't use this clock for that function. We ordered this for my 12 year old daughter's bedroom. She absolutely loves it. The dimmable display is her favorite feature. She likes to turn the brightness way down when she goes to sleep. There's a small dial on the back to easily adjust it. The woodgrain finish is very clean and modern. The alarm works perfectly with adjustable volume.
