Stay Cool Stay Fresh Can multiple indoor units be controlled separately? All indoor units can be turned on/off and adjusted for temperature, fan speed and modes independently. Is extra refrigerant required? The unit is pre-filled with enough refrigerant at factory. No refilling is needed for standard pipe lengths. (Add refrigerant by professionals only if pipes are extra long.) Can I install it myself? Or do I need a professional? Any tools or certifications required? DIY installation is not recommended. This work involves refrigerant piping, wiring and vacuuming. It must be installed by certified technicians with professional refrigeration and electrical tools. Why did I only get one package? Due to weight limits, items are shipped in multiple boxes. 2-zone system comes in 4 packages and 3-zone in 5. All packages will arrive gradually. What are the advantages over single-zone AC and central air systems? Compared with single-zone units: One outdoor unit serves multiple indoor units, saving space and costs. Update: it's getting better and better! Big Central air used to run 14 hrs a day until 2 weeks ago when I installed it. It is set to ECO II, AND SIPS 525WATT, non stop 24/7, 14kw per day. Humidity problem is totally gone in the house. The central air is now running 4-6 hours per day. The addition on this single unit made my house so much more comfortable, and finally the humidity is down from 68-82, to under 50 CONSTANTLY. My house is smelling cleaned, dry and crisp. Ordered another 2 units to bless my family members with. Original review: Amazing to value for money. I'm an HVAC technician, and this was the best value cooling investment to make! It is easy to install, works right out of the box, is sturdy and well constructed. The Mobile app makes it even more convenient. The machine, both inside and the outside units are extremely quiet. I bought this primarily to run during the day to avoid the costly running of central air while only the dog is home. I'm confident this will pay for itself within a year in lowered energy use! It is inverter driven so it's the most energy efficient device on the market. R32 refrigerant is extremely efficient to top it all off. Blows out 45F crisp cool air in hot humid Florida! Note to diy'ers: you have to have a vacuum pump. I sucked it until it was 115 micron to ensure no contamination of the refrigerant. Pay any HVAC guy a 100 bucks to do it for you or buy the pump and gauges, or, buy the less efficient pre charged line set. This is the best unit on the market with regards to value for money, and I just bought another one! ... show more

I purchased this during the prime day sale and didn't have high expectations since the price was almost too good to be true. Installation was a breeze for the first time installing a mini split. One thing to note is the wall passthrough is an oddball size and I did not have the correct hole saw so I ended up 3d printing one. One other tool I had to purchase was the adapter for the vacuum pump. My garage is fairly small (18'x20') and not the best insulated but this performs excellent on 100 degree days and high humidity (Iowa in July!). It will keep the entire garage at 65 degrees no problem. I currently have this hooked up to a hybrid solar inverter and it runs on a 24v 100ah lifepo4 battery with 900 watts of solar. Most of the time I leave the mini split in dehumidify mode which only draws roughly 500 watts. Excellent purchase and can't wait to buy another for the house! ... show more

I installed 2 of thwse 12k btu units and they do amazing work! Install was simple. I did have to buy a 120v plug for the wiring and a vacuum pump. It chills the living room to 64 degrees on the coldest setting. With the living room unit and bedroom unit running along with the central ac, the house stays at 70 degrees during this intense kansas heat wave. ... show more

    • Worth installing yourself if you are slightly handy

This is a simple mini split that is easy to install with a little handiness and the right YouTube video. This is mounted in my office that is in my shop made of two shipping containers. I am not a licensed HVAC guy but to get them and the electrician out would be far more expensive than I was willing to spend. I did run a dedicated circuit from my panel with a 20 amp breaker. Also, I did not mount the heat pump very far from the unit so I did cut and flare the lines, which if you haven't done this it is not that hard. TOOL PURCHASE will be needed. A vacuum pump, a set of manifold gauges, and you will need a mini split line adapter that can be found on amazon for $10 this all ran me about $180 at Harbor Freight and Amazon. (BTW if you buy the pump at harbor freight, do not buy the pump oil, it has it in the box but does not mention it) Also to note, the wiring diagram and overall instructions were a little confusing so a quick google search fixed it. While googling questions you can just search "mini split" because most of these are very similar. The unit cools and heats the room instantly.The wifi app is kinda janky but works really nice when I can turn the unit on in the house and have the office ready to go when I get there. The two gripes I have would be there is no way I have found to change it from celsius to Fahrenheit and when the heat pump kicks on it is a little noisy but thats probably because I am in a poorly insulated metal box. Powerful ac capabilities, greatly out performes the 12000 btu window unit we've used prior to this. Cools our whole mobile home quickly. Haven't used it for supplemental heat yet but did test the function and it seems to blow alot of heat. Unit is whisper quite. Installation was pretty simple but you will need a vacuum pump kit and 5/16 adapter. I shortened the line sets to avoid oil traps and have a clean install. You will need a flare tool and tube cutter. I would've installed one long ago if I knew how simple it was. Even buying tools, vacuum pump, flare kit, adapters and nylog gasket sealer Im all in about 600 bucks. Took me a few hours to install. Local contractors wanted over 2800 to install a similar name brand. We will see how long it last but so far its far better than expected. Instructions are not the greatest but there are many install videos of similar units on YouTube, they all install the same. ... show more
