Love this steamer. The air isn't dry and the moisture is released slowly into the air. The steamer doesn't get too hot to handle with your bare hands. Definitely will recommend to friends and will reorder if the need arises.

This is a very nice steaming pot/humidifier for my wood stove. The upgraded handles on the lid is helpful but I would be really nice if it was designed so you could lift the lid with one hand and fill the pot with the other. It is bigger than I expected which is good because I need to add water multiple times a day to keep it from boiling dry. I read that a trivet wasn’t necessary for this steaming pot but I think it is so I have one on the way. I just think with the glazed finish it would be best not to be sitting directly on the surface of the hot wood stove. I have a fear of it boiling dry and the finish cracking? Not sure that that would happen but don’t want to take any chances. I bought the red and it looks nice on the black wood stove. It says you can fill it through the hole in the top but the instructions don’t recommend doing that. The problem I see with that is that you can’t see the water level to know when it’s full so there is a risk of overfilling it. Says it’s rust free but the instructions say to use oil or lard to prevent rusting. I imagine that is only for the cast iron without the glaze finish but doesn’t state that. There is some unglazed cast iron around the top of the pot and on the inside rim of the lid so I did treat that area to help prevent rust. Value for the money is great for the size. I do add a couple drops of essential oils to the water once a day and it helps freshen the air in my house on these cold winter days when you can’t open the windows and doors to air it out.
