  • Good little trimmer for the price Good little trimmer for the price
This is a good trimmer for trimming thin polyester, pvc and wood veneer edgebanding. I would not attempt to use it for trimming laminate - a router with a trim bit and a file are better suited for that task. I like that this is a compact tool that I can easily keep in a pocket while working in the shop. When inspecting finished panels, I sometimes find edges where the edgebander didn't trim the edgebanding as closely as I would like. I can pull this tool out of my pocket for quick touch-ups. This mini edge trimmer doesn't have a large enough grip area to be comfortably held for any length of time so I will reserve this tool for small projects. There are larger hand trimmers that can handle larger projects but they typically cost several times the cost of this tool. With a stainless steel blade that can be turned after the first side becomes dull, I expect to get many feet of trimming from this little guy. For the current low price, I think this is an excellent buy for any woodworker. ... show more

  • Cleans up the edge of any wood piece Cleans up the edge of any wood piece
So this is a handy tool if you cut something yourself and want to trim the edge and get rid of any burrs. My wife likes working with wood and crafting things, so I thought this might be a helpful tool for her. All it does is smooth out a perfect right angle edge. It doesn't add any designs or anything like that. It also does not work on old wood or wood with soft rounded edges. The wood must already have a nearly perfect right angle edge. I would imagine it would likely be tedious to use on large projects as well. I would recommend it only for small projects. That being said, it is a sturdy solid device. Once the edges wear down on one side you can unscrew it and flip it around and use the other two edges. It's also prices right. You're only paying around $5 so it's a good investment of a tool if you frequently need to trim edges on small projects. ... show more

  • Easier than sanding, and you get a better edge. Happy! Easier than sanding, and you get a better edge. Happy!
I got this edge trimmer because I had stained some wood shelves with some rough edges. I did sand them to fix that before staining but learned later about these. Using this would have been a much easier process to knock down the burs. The block that the blade attaches to is sturdy, holds the blade securely, and fits in your hand comfortably. The blade is great quality and made of thicker stainless steel. I also learned that you can use it on more than just wood...veneer, plywood, laminate, etc. Looking forward to using it on my next project! I did test it on a small piece of wood and it works wonderfully. So very, very much easier than just sanding everything. ... show more

  • For the price it is a good value for small projects.
The "Tkiemoe Upgraded Mini Woodworking Edge Trimmer With Durable Stainless Steel Blades For Edge Banding, Chamfering, Trimming & Deburring, Suitable For PVC, ABS, Laminate And Wood is adequate for fixing small sections of a project that need more edge trimming. I would not want to use this for large projects that would require using this for long periods of time. The size of the trimmer is small and it causes my hand to spasm after ten minutes of use.The angle of the sharp cutting notches also limits the amount of shaving/trimming you can do,and the shape of the trim. The trimmer arrived without instructions or a way to order new blades for it. For the price it is a good value for small projects. ... show more

  • Professional results without the hassle.
I appreciate specialty tools that are designed to make specific tasks easier and produce professional looking results. This edge banding trimmer is a great example. Rather than struggling with a utility knife and risking uneven cuts, this tool trims edge banding quickly and consistently. The stainless steel blade is sharp and cuts cleanly through edge banding materials without tearing or leaving rough edges behind. I also like that it can be used for trimming, deburring, chamfering, and smoothing edges, making it more versatile than I initially expected. Its compact size makes it easy to control, especially when working on smaller projects or detailed areas. The lightweight design is comfortable to use and does not cause hand fatigue during longer sessions. I have used it on furniture repair and woodworking projects, and it produces neat, professional looking results with very little effort. For anyone who regularly works with edge banding, this is a handy tool that saves time and improves the finished appearance of the project. ... show more

  • Nifty carpentry hand tool Nifty carpentry hand tool
It is a simple tool with a plastic piece with a blade mounted on it; the plastic piece serves as a hand hold while using this tool. It can shave off a thin layer from the surface of a wooden piece with very little effort. With this tool you can perform a delicate and detailed trimming work that requires patience and craftsmanship. This tool has to be used in short intervals of time otherwise the holding fingers will get painfully fatigued. It is not ergonomically designed. The blade is fixed with two screws, I think the blade can be rotated 180° to change the cutting edge by loosening those screws. It is a must-have tool for a carpenter of any level. ... show more

  • Great edge banding cutter for smaller projects Great edge banding cutter for smaller projects
I do a lot of woodworking but haven't done a ton with edge banding to this point. It is something I wanted to get into though, so I grabbed this to check it out. Firstly, there's not a lot to this edge banding cutter. It's only about two inches wide and an inch tall. It is very sharp, but given the fact it is on a smaller platform, I wouldn't recommend it for too large of a job. It's got a nice weight to it so it slid great along the wood surface that I finished. It was only an area about 6 inches long, but it did great. Overall, this is a slam dunk. The sharpness of the blade, the weight, and the incredible value make this a definite recommendation. ... show more

  • Just a little off the top... Just a little off the top...
Handy well made tool for trimming the edge of veneer. After you install a veneer or even laminate top (even after you route the edge) there are sometimes little Burrs or an even areas. This handy tool lets you slide along the edge of your new new project and trim off those little burrs. It's a small tool but solid metal blade and sturdy screws. Attached to a block of solid square material. The tool is very simple to use and in my little practice runs it worked great. Very sharp and the solid edge gives a smooth run to your trimming This is a great value and something you need to keep in your wood shop! It's that tool that you need to finish the job right. Smooth edges and a nice professional look. ... show more
