Are you tired of having a cold laundry room in the winter? I like that this damper works well and can keep the cold air from migrating into our laundry room. Fits the pipe well and is easy to install the cold air that was coming in. Makes an excellent value for what it cost because it prevents that cold air from coming in making a furnace run. It’s also quiet. Doesn’t add any more noise to your dryer.

This 4” backdraft damper worked great for my dryer vent installation in the basement. A backdraft damper can be required by code, as is the case in my area, and this 4” damper met the requirements to pass inspection. It’s made of solid metal and the flaps are very quiet when it’s opening and shutting. Screws can collect lent, and would fail inspection in many areas, so I attached this to a 4” aluminum duct pipe utilizing a metal clamp and UL181 rated foil tape. The fit was perfect for the 4” pipe, and it was a painless installation overall. The metal isn’t incredibly dense, but it feels sturdy enough, and I think it will last a long time. At the current price of $9.99 this damper is a great value.
