I bought the BMW preloaded and added Nissan to it. It was a little bit expensive, but I was able to determine the diver front wheel speed sensor was not working and found the wires almost broken at the connector. I replaced the connector for about $5 and was able to look at the live data on the NT710 to see as I spun each wheel it would display the speed of the wheel as it was turning. It was nice to see it working correctly before I finished the heat shrink on the connectors. It also cleared my airbag light and it has not returned. So far it has probably paid for itself in just those two repairs. Words of warning.... DO NOT loan it to anyone, you will probably never see it again. ... show more

If you own a newer BMW this will pay for itself in 2 diagnostics. Gives codes and clears errors, easy to use, updates via Wi-Fi. This is a nice tool at a reasonable price.

    • Gets to the modules - short on documentation
I bough this tool specifically for working on our BMW's, not having any diagnostic tools for them for a couple years now. Previously having a small fleet of Audi's and VAG-COM for them, I was hoping for a little better experience than the Foxwell tool has offered. Don t get me wrong, this scanner does get to many of the necessary modules, and has some really neat features (such as formatting the output reports into a PDF that's easily emailed or printed right from the scanner), however many of those things appear to be aimed at a small repair shop managing their customers. What is lacking is GOOD documentation on a specific manufacturers coding and what your actually looking at! Even the various OEM forums do a horrible job of explaining what the bowels of these things can do, and the on-line reviews are pretty much people that have nothing more to say than "that's neat... ummm, whats this?". I have used this a few times now with my cars and it was excellent at helping me find and diagnose an immediate issue that popped up - a faulty Oil Pressure Sensor... and paid for itself in shop labor costs right there (albeit those sensors are so hard to reach, paying the shop was a serious consideration). I would advise EXTREME CAUTION in poking around with some of the potential areas - I still am unsure how a couple 'minor' things seem to have changed in driver profiles after using this tool... Overall its not a bad tool for a weekend warrior, it gets to a level in the OEM codes that the "Bluetooth phone apps" don't seem capable of, and its not too complicated to figure out. Just study up on the OEM terms, keep your OEM forums nearby, and be careful on hitting 'continue'... ... show more

I used to be a BMW certified technician. Now I just work on my own car(BMW). I’m telling you right now it won’t get better than this. You will not find a better deal on a scanner BMW specific that can do all these things. I have a substantially more expensive big big big name brand scanner that didn’t do 1/4 of what this one does. It’s just about the same as the factory diagnostic tool the dealers use. (Updated next sentence) So far I found a single difference besides the layout just a bit and you can NOT program, but you can code. If you work on BMW’s a lot or just your own this is the best one to buy. I wish I was sponsored so I could get a discount, but it was worth every penny. And you can buy directly from the device additional manufacturer specific software! A lot of the big name brands are available ... show more

    • Fantastic Foxwell had Faults and Fails!
Very disappointed, I wanted this scanner to be everything the bright, glossy pictures showed and some of the reviews highlight. Frustratingly this has not been my experience, I purchased the unit after Foxwell sales told me it would program my BMW tailgate to open and close with push of the console button or using the key. However, this is not the case. I have tried to do this and spoken to “support” over email multiple times. Support is via India or China, you send an email and receive a response at 2,3 or 4am. The first response from Foxwell was “have you upgraded the software?” - yes, I did this when I purchased it, second response after I sent screenshots said, “sorry engineer says unit is new and still working on it”. Not sure what I’m supposed to with that! Also, be warned I have accidentally coded my heads up display (HUD), now I have lost my speed limits and directions. I have tried to undo this, to no avail. Again, with no instructions it’s possible to do more damage than good. YouTube videos are basic and seem sponsored by those that received their unit for free. I have decided to return the unit, Foxwell’s response was, “please use Amazon” don’t send to us. Again, I wanted to love this unit, but it has limitations and risk, so buyer beware. ... show more

I purchased this to bleed my brakes on my Mini Cooper. Worked great. However I can’t change battery CCA or AH. I accidentally purchased a different battery. However you can register it if you buy the same/own battery. I really like the android system. I can save and email the codes. The Wi-Fi rhapsody a really long range, further the my iPhone.12. There’s no annual subscription like snap on and this does everything you will need. I highly recommend it. ... show more
