The smaller and well labeled with FRAGILE / GLASS box was inside an unlabeled box twice the size which was NOT padded so obviously it got banged around and there were small chips on the glass front...but not worth the hassle of reboxing and returning!! But it did arrive damaged. Disappointing. The ACTUAL product is very nice and entertaining with the various lights, colors, flames and heat options. Remote works fine for me...although not clear on how to "eventually" change the little flat battery...which one must have to really use the unit! I was not sure if it would seem "fake" but it is like a light show so a good focal point and atmospheric. I love it so far. Whoever does the packaging...you can do better! Use a little common sense and air bubble packing and a SMALLER outside box...or none?! ... show more

Purchased this fireplace as the main heat source for our newly finished basement. Installation was straightforward~ hubby had it done in just under an hour. Recessed it into the wall and it looks fabulous. Really like the many choices of colors for the flame which gives lots of mood enhancing options. Digital display is on the front when using the remote is bright and easy to read from afar. On high it works well and warms nearly instantaneously the aprox 400 square foot space. Very quiet too. We have not tried this yet, it’s still in the box. I was impressed how quickly it came to me we are out of the country. The manufacturer even sent me a message asking how happy I was with it, I wasn’t able to respond yet because we haven’t installed it. We bought it for the ambience of the fireplace, it’s a great value for the price. I hope it looks and works as well, physically when I see it installed. Well the pictures of the flames are nonsense.. you do get several different colors on the rocks and different colors on the flames but no where is it mixed colors.. heat works well but didn’t use it for that often
