Pictures and Video are right out of the box shots and taken on a old Samsung Phone so obviously not 4K. We just last month 'cut the cord' and decided replace our old Plamsa TV w/ our first Smart TV. After much researching we decided to go w/ the 65" LG C3 OLED. We watch TV in what is basically a Theater atmosphere so the brighter LG G3 was not needed and much more expensive. That said, this TV is plenty good in bright room light. There is also NO drop off as you move around the room like that on a LED. Out of the box.... and just 41 pounds.... the picture on the C3 AMAZED Us! Sharp, clear, seamless video w/ gorgeous color on a 4K HDR Fish Tank Video. I am a photographer and so a fanatic on picture quality. LG's Picture Wizard does a darn good initial setup! Researching reviews/settings for the TV recommends turning off Energy Saver. Also a few tweaks for Contrast, Brightness, Color Saturation, etc. and we were good for watching 4K HDR. I didn't care greatly for the SDR as I like lifelike not 'punchy' Video. After some research I found a site (RTINGS) that had recommended settings for watching the C3 in SDR. THIS tweaking made a world of difference in the quality of the Video. This was especially noticeable on the Video from our old SDR TiVo Video Recorder. You can then tell the TV to apply these HDR and SDR settings across All Inputs. I can't really speak to the Sound Quality as I run all my sound through an Onkyo AVR and Mission Speakers/Sub. If you are coming from a 'Dumb' TV setup, where everything runs First to your AVR then uphill/out to the TV/Monitor, you will need to do some research on ARC/eARC HDMI. This and all Smart TV,s run downhill. Cable Box, Gaming, Blueray, etc go first to your LG TV through HDMI in Ports. Then an ARC/eARC HDMI transmits signals from the TV to an ARC/eARC Port on your AVR Receiver. It also, in my and in most cases, turns on and sets the AVR as I turn on the TV or Inputs through the TV. The LG C series has a GREAT Menu for helping this and ALL setups. As my old HDMI cables were 10 years old I did buy new 8K HDMI Cable 2.1 cables for ARC, XBOX, TiVo . The Remote has a Cursor/Pointer Feature that comes on when you shake/pickup the remote. THIS takes a bit of time to get used to, but is easily turned off. ALL IN ALL We LOVE this TV and after only a week have just scratched the surface on the user interface.

I have been waiting to buy one of the 4k OLED TVs for almost 4 years, since the C1 was rolled out, and man am I glad I waited! Let me start by saying the crisp picture quality, full color range and LG trumotion functions built into the TV are great. I use FILMMAKER mode mostly and it does a great job of not oversaturating colors with HDR on, and getting the best looking picture for most media. I can't say enough about how much I love turning on this TV and seeing the bright, bold colors with better brightness than previous models. In addition to the great picture though, is the great gaming platform it is. I usually game on a 2k screen that is 144hz and 99% RGB with my PC, which looks great. However being able to game at 4K at 120fps with all the pop of OLED is something to behold. Single player games especially shine such as Resident Evil 8 on Ultra-High settings, Dead Space, Final Fantasy remake, God of War, etc. The high framerate is great if you can take advantage, but that requires a serious investment so may not be worth it for everyone. Overall I have no complaints. Yes this model could be cheaper overall, but you seriously get what you pay for and I know I will have no problem using this TV for the next 10 years, 4k has truely matured to produce a near perfect product.

I'm upgrading to this from an old, 65 inch, early-gen 4K set from Hisense. The difference in quality control and just plain picture quality is shocking to behold. This TV makes me want to rewatch every favorite film I have, after making sure to procure the 4K edition of each one. The main draw for me choosing an OLED screen was a desire for those perfect, deep shadows. And wow are they ever nice. But it's also a very clear image. What amazes me most of all, however, is the brightness. I see the newer versions of the set are capable of a brighter image; more NITS etc. I suppose in some situations that might be nice but to be honest with you...I cannot imagine a brighter TV than this, at least not in your standard living room setting. We don't watch TV in direct sunlight so I can't imagine needing more brightness than this set provides. I often find myself turning the OLED brightness down to around 80 because the pixels are just so darned bright. Best picture on any TV I've ever owned. Now if only they made a "dumb TV" version I'd be thrilled. But it seems everybody wants apps on their TVs now and I don't get why. That's what streaming boxes are for. The apps that are built in to these sets are rarely equipped with a nice UI and as such I avoid using them. But I suppose the fact that they're there is more a plus than a minus. I also detest motion smoothing and managed to get all that garbage turned off ASAP as well, which was a relief. I was worried I'd be stuck with interpolated frames when watching films and that would've been a borderline deal-breaker for me. It certainly seems like all of that is off now so I'm happy. I do like the menu design for settings, and the Wii-style pointer remote works surprisingly well. I also appreciate being able to save often-used settings in the quick menu. If you can get a good deal on this and you're not watching TV on a beach with the screen directly facing the sun, you'll be happy with this one. 😉

I shopped around for a good while even going to the big box stores to compare various TVs on offer from the various makers and this model stood out after multiple visits and time spent researching options and price ranges and sizes. The picture quality always jumped out at me as the best out of all the wide options I encountered. After pulling the trigger on this unit I am absolutely glad I choose this model. I wouldn't even say glad, more like thrilled. The quality of the picture is far beyond the best I've seen. We have a very nice high end TV at home already for comparison that's fairly new and at the top end. So I do have a comparison point. We just needed another set for another room in the place and it was time to buy. I took some time in the settings to explore what everything could do, had a run with the 'AI' features of this set and did some manual adjustments to all the various things to get this working and displaying exactly how I want my picture to look and I was able to land exactly where I wanted in the sweet spot with very little stress at all. And the audio? The AI enhanced setting is just phenomenal. I didn't even bother putting in a sound bar even though I had one laying around. It's just so clear and crisp with nice deep lows that don't rattle but do rumble. This TV gets *loud* if you want it. I also game on this now and it puts out a stunning 120hz at 4k that just absolutely sings to the eyes. Using my PS5 to feed the image, it's never looked better and I've been 4k gaming for a long time now. It's just never looked better. I am thoroughly impressed by LG after buying this, it was my first one from them and I'd be hard pressed to go with another make after this as I truly feel that I'm spoiled now by it. Nothing else looks as good to me. Even watching older shows, this brings them to life in new ways and the fidelity is so ramped up by the on board features of this set that it makes watching literally anything a pleasure. I usually have no patience for kid's shows for example, but when the grandkids came to visit shortly after we got this, I was just as glued to watching them as they were. The colors, the fluidity of motion, the crisp detail...just pure eye candy. And for a visual device like this, that's the highest praise I can give it. It's heavy in case you're wondering about that. Even at 48" I only felt secure moving this around the house with two grown people handling it carefully. It's got weight to it. In summary, this TV is not only the best TV I've ever owned, it's literally the best quality I've ever seen. Even among family and friends or display models in store. I feel like it's from the future or something, at least a couple years out compared to everything else. I have no higher praise to give this than what I've said and it was nothing for me to say it. No exaggeration or imagination required this is just stream of thought and these are genuinely the things that came to mind when I felt it was time to review. I can't help but gush about this set, it deserves the praise. I feel my life itself would lose a little bit of color if I had to give this up, and it brings me actual mental comfort knowing I have this and can relax after a long day looking at it. It's one of those things where you're looking at it and often think and even remark things like "This looks better than real life huh?"

I'm using the C3 as a computer monitor. I had purchased the G9 Neo a couple years back and have been using that as my main display coupled with a G8 - it was TONS of real estate, but media consumption was mediocre as the vertical space was the same as a 27" screen, so I decided to migrate to a singular large format screen. I went back and forth on size and brand between this and the equivalent Samsung offering. I checked them out in stores, read reviews and the C3s only issue was the protection LG uses to prevent burn-in, so when the C3 was recently on sale I sprung for it. I was aiming for the 55" since it was going to sort of be on my desk (wall mount), but the 65" was actually a better price at the time. It actually was the EXACT same width as my desk and is surprisingly aesthetically pleasing. In terms of performance I've had a couple things to work through. First there are NO Displayports and you pretty much NEED an HDMI 2.1 cable, so I was back on Amz fast tracking a new cable after trying to setup. I'm powering it currently with a 3080 TI. Playing content at 4k 60hz has been terrific, but when I bumped my refresh rate to 120, the screen itself started having issues - not my PC or what was on screen, but the menu system started choking HARD and slowed down greatly. This is actually pretty worrisome to me, I've dealt with Samsung putting a cheap processor in a screen before, and the smart stuff starts to crap out over time - so I'll be watching this, maybe it is a firmware issue, I can't call it yet. In terms of practical use and gaming, mostly Helldivers 2, Brotato, and Fortnite - all maxed out - it looks fantastic and is a much better experience than my ultrawide despite being close to the same width and it having a 240mhz refresh rate (and technically costing less than the G9 when not on sale). I was worried about text sharpness, but text has been perfectly sharp - the biggest IMO difference between a "tv" screen and monitor. Recently did taxes with wife at the same time on it and even with different forms and documents opened all over the screen at once (FancyZones for the win) she was able to read everything easily, despite needing glasses and being on the far right side. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but that is kind of huge. Media consumption such as Youtube has been a mixed bag - simply put there aren't THAT many content creators posting in 4K, so everything is being upscaled - with the results being mixed - hard to say who's fault that really is. Finally color and burn-in. I've had no burn in, but I've left the device to take care of self-dimming, I've kept it off when not in use, and I use animated backgrounds along with hidden task-bars, so I'm actively defending against it. So good so far. One of the differences touted between this and the Samsung equivalents is that the Samsungs are brighter - I worry not only will that lead to more burn-in, but it wouldn't be as comfortable as this has been, to use as a monitor - I'm sitting a few feet from a 65" screen, I don't need the full brightness of the sun pouring into my eyes. However, and in a good way, the darkness hs made the contrast look even better to at least me, and that makes the colors look even better. Helldivers 2 is not super colorful, but I can CLEARLY see all the details. Playing Rainbow 6 Siege, I've never felt at a disadvantage due to people blending in (or had issues with latency). Fortnite is super colorful and just 'pops' off the screen to my delight. Brotato as a 2D game doesn't tax the screen resolution, but speed that game can move at in later levels has not been affected by latency at ALL and it looks better than it did on my Steamdeck and the colors at least "feel" better than m G9, though I struggle to separate the color performance here from the scale. It was a weird decision buying this screen as a monitor, but I've ENJOYED using it so much, like I've actually smiled just playing games like L4D2 because the experience has been so good.

I spent 7-8 days reading Amazon reviews, reading articles online about all the various TV types, watching dozens of YouTube tech videos on TVs and which models fail or which ones experience burn in. Eventually Reddit user experiences and YouTube had the best information out there. Basically there isn’t a better TV than the LG C3 in this price range. LG models resist burn in better than any other OLED. The color quality and HDR are out of this world. For ~ $800 it’s incredible. The magic remote actually works like a mouse reliably. The gist of my research is this: if you watch news a lot use LCD. That includes all the marketing jargon names like micro LED, QLED, etc. They all invariably use liquid crystal pixels. If you don’t watch the news on your TV and only watch movies without any static logos such as streaming service names, this TV is the one for SciFi content, and will likely die before burn in ever happens. I use it as max brightness all the time, but I make sure that the aspect ratio of all content fills the screen and that there are no static logos or images. This includes games that use a HUD system or connecting to a PC, all of which has static content that will cause burn in. There is a silver lining to static images on LG TVs, they resist burn in far far better than Sony or Samsung models. Which also are more expensive and brighter. Brighter comes at a cost of killing the OLED pixels really fast. Simple physics, they run hotter. If you want bright but not LCD buy a micro lens array TV from LG. But I have to say this C3 in any size is a beautiful TV. I use mostly Prime, Paramount+, and Apple TV. All content including SD content looks incredible. The AI upscaling makes old tv shows and SciFi movies insanely good. I should say though that I’ve only had this TV 2 months, but people are saying this is a notoriously long lived OLED panel, and if you don’t abuse it you’ll likely never have an issue. If you don’t want to deal with all the smart bs and being tracked and profiled or have your kids profiled based on what you watch I have a few recommendations. First use an external TV box to stream your content such as the Xfinity box or any other that you may use. Mainly because you would pass that through the TVs HDMI port. And so far it doesn’t analyze what is processed through the HDMI ports. As far as I know it’s the only way to have your privacy in your own home using a smart TV. Besides never using it because you have to log on to actually use the TV. But logging on doesn’t mean you have to use the built in apps. Keep in mind Netflix will not stream 4K off a laptop. Doesn’t matter if it’s a high end laptop or PC (there is a way but it’s a bit technical if your into that sort of thing). But it will stream 4K off of an external TV box. Yeah Netflix is run by a bunch of pricks these days I don’t use them anymore along with Disney+.

This is a particularly important review....if you are looking for a fantastic gaming monitor. I built an awesome PC for Call of Duty and wanted something bigger and more bad a$$ then my Asus Predator 27" 240HZ. The Asus has been incredible. If you are looking for a smaller gaming monitor grab that one. My new machine has the GTX4090, I9 processor, Samsung 990 Pro drives...all the best. I wanted a monitor to match this power. My journey began buying the 49" Samsung G9. What a nightmare. Picture was pixelated, and I could NEVER get it to work right. Sold it on Facebook. The next one I purchased was the LG 45" Ultragear OLED curved monitor. I read complimentary reviews and watched a bunch of videos. I received the monitor, set it up, turned it on and all it did was flash. The entire screen would flash fast on and on. I fought with it for hours. I did some research, and this is an issue. Screw that. I boxed it up and back it went. The next Monitor that I was to try was the LG 42" C3 OLED TV. I was very skeptical because of the 120HZ refresh rate. I have always been used to the 240HZ. I received the monitor yesterday...and after watching many YouTube videos BEFORE setting it up I knew that the main thing you must do is calibrate the monitor to your PC before using it or judging it. As soon as I turned the power on...I was blown away. Just the start up screens were better than the others. This unit has an AI calibration that is fantastic. After I was done, I plugged it into my PC and went to youtube and typed in "LG 4G video" and watched a couple videos. Words cannot describe how gorgeous this screen is. I called my wife in to see, and she was blown away. My frustrations have ended. Call of Duty now looks better than I could ever imagine. This monitor is so clear that I was running the PASSMARK 3D benchmark test and a space scene comes on, and the graphics are so clear, and this screen is so immersive it made my stomach a little queezy from the movement...I have NEVER experienced that. I hope this helps somebody if they are on the edge of purchase....do it. I am so glad I did not get the 48"...it would have been too big. This 42" is perfect. When placed in front of you at the proper distance it is just enough for your peripheral vision. It is all screen. WOW.

When light reflects off the screen—such as from a lamp—it becomes clear that the panel surface is slightly warped rather than smooth and uniform. It lacks the crisp, clean finish I’ve seen on comparable models like the Bravia. The TV is also surprisingly difficult to manage. The primary issue is the software (webOS), which feels unintuitive and outdated for a modern smart TV. I had high expectations for LG’s proprietary operating system, assuming it would be an improvement over Google TV, which I previously found frustrating. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Despite its flaws, Google’s interface is far more intuitive, feature‑rich, and user‑friendly. By comparison, LG’s system feels clunky and inefficient. Most modern TVs are essentially plug‑and‑play: connect a device via HDMI, and the TV automatically recognizes it, identifies the brand, and allows you to rename the input with ease. This TV does not. Many settings are buried in menus that don’t follow a logical structure, and several LG‑specific features are difficult to use in practice. The digital audio connection has also been problematic. It’s possible I’m missing a step, but clear, step‑by‑step instructions are nowhere to be found. The IR Blaster is another example. It arrives with no instructions, yet it’s intended to control external devices like DVD players or sound systems through a universal remote. While the concept is appealing, the on‑screen menus don’t align with the available documentation, and the guidance provided is minimal. As a result, the feature is extremely difficult to set up or use effectively. App support is another limitation. There is no Spectrum app, and PBS is limited to PBS Kids. While these services can be accessed through an external device like Apple TV, Spectrum’s integration remains inconsistent, which adds to the frustration. Customer support was also challenging to locate. I had to search extensively online just to find the correct phone number. Once I reached an agent, the interaction went smoothly, but the process to get there was unnecessarily difficult. The picture quality is decent, but the overall user experience has been disappointing. Based on my experience, I would rate this TV below average. If returning it were an option, I would do so.
