  • Works well with older garage door openers.
Color: Garage Door Keypad-877MAX
Moved into a new house and purchased this because the garage didn't have an outdoor remote. The garage door opener doesn't have a Learn button, it uses the old DIP switches. This remote works well with older models like we have. It was relatively easy to program. If you have DIP switches, hang on to the manual in case you need to change the switches on your opener. You'll need to reprogram the remote. ... show more

  • Thumbs Up... So Far
Color: Garage Door Keypad-877MAX
I have a Genie door opener that was paired with a Genie remote keypad. Two keypads, actually. I've gone through two keypads in 7 years. IMO the Genie keypads are cheap, poorly made, and unreliable. The keys feel mushy when pushed, they provide no aural or tactile feedback, and seem to go through the two AAA batteries like crazy. So I took a chance on this keypad. I was wary because my exact door opener was not listed as one that was compatible but also because of the generic nature of the device that seems to be being sold on Amazon under a wide variety of names and prices. Setting up the keypad was a little dicey because I had to make a guess as to which setup code I needed to use. But I nailed it on the first try. My fist impression is that this keypad is superior to the OEM Genie keypad. It feels solid and has a some nifty features including having a 9-volt battery that I hope will last longer.. So it passes the first test. Only time will tell if it lasts longer than the Genie keypad. ... show more

  • Good remote
Color: Garage Door Keypad-877MAX
Easy to pair, works quickly, but man the beeps when you press the button are loud. Unsure if there’s a way to turn it off.

  • Good Device Good Device
Color: Garage Door Keypad-877MAX
Works well with an older Craftsman opener, probably manufactured mid to late 90's. It did not work according to the programming instructions, though. I found with other such devices (like MyQ remotes) that if it doesn't respond to the programming listed for the "learn button color," try the other entries in the list until it works. My opener has a red button which is supposed to be a "3" setting. See pic. No good... I also tried "1" for yellow, 2 for purple, and hit on the "4" for green. So if it doesn't work right off, try all the entries before returning it as defective or incompatible. ... show more

  • Easy set up and program. Does not work in freezing temperatures.
Color: Garage Door Keypad-877MAX
The programmer does not work in freezing temperatures. We bought the programmer a while ago and have had no problems initially. Easy to set up and worked well with our LiftMaster garage door system. The only quirk is that you have to enter the code to both open and close the door. The original opener you only had to press Enter to close. We are now in mid-January freezing temperatures in Minnesota and it does not work when the temperature falls down near 0F (-18C). That is flat out dangerous if you rely on the garage door opener as the way into the house for your kids (make sure they have a key as back up if you chose to buy this model). ... show more
