I needed to find a steel rod (monument) driven into the ground to mark a property corner. It had been surveyed a few months ago but the adjacent property owner had driven the rod down below ground level. The UNIROI Pinpointing Metal Detector found it in a couple of minutes. Job well done. The unit comes with a holster, lanyard, some probe covers, and a 9V battery. The battery cannot be inserted incorrectly because the size of the holes to reach the contacts are keyed to the size of the 9V battery's contacts. Simple, foolproof, and no wires to break like conventional 9V connectors. The audible and vibrating functions worked as intended. The white LED that stays on when the unit is on is not much more than an indicator. Contrary to what is claimed, it is not useful as more than a very weak flashlight.

If you have a metal detector then this hand held detector is a big help to find where the item is in a way more accurate less stressful way. Use this detector as an aide to go along with the traditional metal detector. It beeps upon finding the item and is very easy to use. I definitely recommend buying this detector along with all your other metal detecting gear.

My boyfriend purchased a real-deal pinpointer (from a metal detecting brand) for roughly $100. While I can tell that his is a little more sensitive, the difference in price made this one a steal! In comparing the capabilities, if I was told to guess the cost of this one from use only, and was told his cost $100, I would’ve guessed this one to be between $60-$80 based on ability. The beep gets progressively faster as you locate an item and I’ve found things I would have never located with my eyes, either because they were too small or too camouflaged. It’s made a great addition to our metal detecting hobby! Edit: After a year of use, I stand by my review. The battery lasts a long time as well. I think I’ve only changed it twice and that’s with frequent use. The beeping will start to get weird which is how you know when it’s dying. I’ve never had it just abruptly not turn on. Great product for the price!
