Description

The DFR3 detects emissions from Radar Guns and sounds an audio alert for the driver. The detector determines which band range the signal is from and displays that Frequency type on the display (x, K, KA, or L). the Frequency strength (1 through 5) also displays as applicable. If there is a specific alert code, that is also displayed. The DFR3 utilizes two different modes for highway or City use.

Loved the price, feel like for a good radar, you'd have to dish out at least $100 bucks, but after reading all the reviews, not just on amazon but other websites, i knew i had to get this one, especially since it was at an even bigger discount during prime days. Been using it for 4 days now for my commute to and from work and so far, its been RIGHT ON all the times. Weather its in city mode or highway, its been spot on 99% of the time. Volume, suction, size, and capabilities are great!! I was skeptical about the low price , but decided if it didn't work as advertised, I could always return it. I just got back from a 2,000 mile trip and I must say that this unit works well and it saved me several times from costly tickets.     • Reliable thus far
As good or better than my outgoing Whistler midrange model (that died after many years). Filters eliminate all the blind spot and safety system chatter. Ka is fine at a distance for highway use. Laser works, but it's really only to tell you to start slowing down and move to the side of the road. This is true for most detectors, thankfully most highway patrol can't be bothered with using laser since it takes an ounce of effort on their part. Suction cups lose their grip during the summer heat. Having a hard time finding better replacements, might be best suited for an adhesive/velcro dash mount of something more sophisticated under the rearview mirror. ... show more

Have the DFR1 and wanted to try DFR3. So far it work just as good if not better. Would give it a higher rating but the clip release button broke after the first time that I pressed to remove from my window.

Good sensitive detector but don't expect it to reduce false alarms like a 400 dollar detector for its price level !
