Overall, this light has served its purpose. The metal pieces don't make it particularly easy to attach this to a wall or ceiling, but the light worked well and so did the sensor.

I got this item to use in my kitchen under the cabinet for light in the evening or at night. This light allows me to get in and out without turning on a big light. The motion sensor works great. If you get anywhere near it it comes on immediately. There are several options to mount it but I used the magnets. And the magnetic attachments make it so easy to install. It hardly needs any instructions. Just charge it and go. With the magnets, you can pull it down and charge the light. Or you can charge it in place if it is near a wall socket. I really like this light, because it has different levels of brightness. Most of the time I just want a bit of extra light, but not so much to hurt my eyes. However, sometimes I need more light for detailed work. This light gives both options. I usually just turn this light on and off manually, because the motion option only works when it's dark. That is great for some situations, but mostly I use it for extra light during the daytime. Since I don't use it that often, the charge last me a while and it charges back up easily. I’m using this to help brighten up the inside of a tool cabinet. The light output is good for one shelf. Not super strong, but adequate for the space, and WAY better than some that I’ve purchased. Installation was a breeze thanks to the magnetic mounting and the shelves being steel. Attachment is solid. Even with aggressive slamming of doors, it remains firmly attached. The light temperature is on the cool side compared to my other lights. The self discharge rate on the battery is very low, which is great, especially in this type of use scenario. It means it wont run itself down while it isn’t being used, so you won’t get surprised by a non-working light when you open the cabinet for the first time in a month! ... show more

Sorry not sorry for the goofy title, but it's fitting. My husband told me yesterday this light scares him because I put it up the day I got it by sticking it to the fridge and didn't tell him. We have a small section of cabinet between the fridge and the wall where my coffee maker is. He doesn't drink coffee so I figured he'd probably not see the light for some time. That very night he decided to sweep something up (I mean, c'mon, you didn't expect me to expect that, right?) and when he reached for the broom the light came on. Oops! "That thing is bright! And touchy! Anytime I reach my hand between the wall and the fridge it pops on!" Well, yeah that's the point. I wanted a light that I could use in the mornings to make my coffee without turning on the main kitchen light and having it shine in his eyes through the bedroom door. I'd tried a puck light stuck to the bottom of the cabinet and a magnetic light stuck to the fridge before but neither lasted very long or provided the amount of light I wanted where I wanted it. I needed to be able to see the top of the machine along with the water reservoir on the side - nothing like pouring 48 ounces of water down the side of your refrigerator because you thought you were close enough. This magnetic light is perfect for this. It's wide enough to light up the entire area I need. The motion sensor means no more forgetting to turn it off and running the batteries down and the magnet is surprisingly strong! We have a textured surface on the side of our fridge which a lot of magnets suffer with but this one is holding strong! I'm very impressed with this little light so far.. and the comedy it provides when I hear my husband gasp and curse under his breath a little every time he reaches for something... priceless! ... show more

    • Simple and effective
The LED light worked right out of the box, as it came fully charged. The light is small, however, it is quite bright for closets and smaller places. It gives sufficient light in a room. So I have a room in the basement where the light switch is quite far away from the door. So I have to stumble upon items in order to hit the switch. I installed this light and now it turns on as soon as I enter the room, thanks to its sensor technology. I used the stackable metal pieces on the wall, so the magnet within the light sticks to the wall and I can remove when I need to charge or use the light elsewhere before putting it back in its place. ... show more
