Our neighborhood has recently had several instances of backyard intruders. I've set up a couple of LED bulbs in a Y light socket converter, but even 300 watts equivalent can do only so much to illuminate a wide backyard. I've been looking into setting up wiring. Certain solar-powered products advertised on TV aren't an option since, being perfectly candid, they just aren't that good. They never have enough bulbs and/or enough battery power for more than a closet. Enter this beauty that has both enough LEDs and enough power. One alone is remarkably bright. I couldn't wait to test it, and it very nicely lit up 400 square feet of my dark garage. Two are going to be great for our backyard. They can be in conjunction with my existing Y-bulbed setup, so that we'll always have illumination anyway, and then the motion sensors will kick in to hopefully scare someone off. And at this price, it's not just competitive, but cheaper than a lot of weaker lights. All my neighbors need to spend this little bit of money so that criminals aren't encouraged by the lack of lighting typical around me. The side "arms" are very stiff and will hold with no problem at whatever angle I need, and the plastic construction is plenty durable for mounting wherever I need. The included hardware includes drywall anchors, which I won't need, but it's a nice touch so a buyer doesn't have to dig into a toolbox or run to the hardware store.

Each 3 head unit contains 302 LEDs and generates 3000 lumens and a cool white color temperature of 7000K. The lights have a detection distance of up to 60 feet and a 270° beam angle. There is no need for an electrical connection. Like all solar powered products, The solar panel must be placed in direct sunlight in order to charge the 1800mAh battery. The unit can stay mounted all year. It is IP65 waterproof and frost and heat resistant. There is no remote control. The lighting mode must be selected before the unit is mounted out of reach. The lighting modes are: MODE 1 The light remains off until the unit senses motion. The light goes to full brightness and stays lit for 30 seconds after activity ceases. MODE 2 The light stays at 10% brightness all night, without motion detection. MODE 3 The light stays dim all night. If movement is detected, the light goes to 100% brightness for 30 seconds. The manufacturer offers a 2 year limited warranty. I was impressed with the accuracy of the motion detection and the brightness of the lights. I believe that the 2 pack of UME solar lights is selling at a reasonable price.

These solar lights are superb quality! They are very bright and deliver wide coverage. The lights are easy to install, and having two in the box is a wonderful value. In my opinion, the more lights the better will help keep criminals at bay. The motion sensor detection works extremely well and turns on at the slightest movement. I tried creeping up to it very slow from a good distance and it went off every time. The distance it covers is really broad, and this is what I was looking for in a security solar light. Perfect!

Got this to replace a battery powered motion light in the back yard, and it lights up very well. Only problem, of course, is if the sun doesn't shine a few days. Happily accept that inconvenience rather than constantly buying batteries!

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at how good these solar lights are for the price. They are really easy to use. Just hang them where you will get direct sunlight during the day and you will have decent bright light at night. I also like the motion detection feature it makes the light brighter when someone or something moves into its view.
