I like to car-camp and have run my vehicle's battery down simply by repeatedly opening and shutting the powered side doors on my minivan, so I ordered this jump starter to test. Out of the box, there are several design features I like; It comes with a nice storage case that securely holds the charger and cable accessories, weighs about 3 lbs., measures about 9" long x 3" wide and ~ 2" tall, has an easy to read digital indicator that gives the percentage of charge and the input/output wattage, has well-designed battery clamps that minimize the chance of accidental contact/sparking, as well as a well-designed jump-start module that prevents accidental reverse-polarity connecting and sparking. Charging: The unit comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-A to USB-C cable, but no 110 volt transformer for charging in the house. If you want it to charge at its maximum rate, you'll need a high-output transformer device to provide a wattage output at or near the 65 watt maximum that the unit will accept. Since I was working in the house, I used this device to provide input charging power to the Jump Starter for testing: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CCTGT1GF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1. With 58 watts of input power the unit's charge increased by 1% every minute and a half. Note, you could also charge the unit from a port in your car. To Test the Jump Start Capability: I charged the Jump Starter to 100%. I purposely ran the battery on my car down to the point where only the solenoid would click (too weak to engage the starter) then tested the UIBI Jump Starter. It was a little reluctant to start, but the engine turned over, and cranked on the third try. I found it pretty interesting that the front display of the jump starter still showed 100% even after providing power to crank the car. Auxiliary Charging Outputs/Inputs: There are 2x USB-A output ports, and one USB-C Input/Output port (See photo). With the included USB-C to USB-C cable, the unit will provide enough output power to "Super Fast Charge" my Android phone; If I charge from either of the USB-A ports, my phone indicates that it's charging at the standard rate. See photo showing the specifications from the bottom of the unit. Note, only the USB-C port on the unit allows for charging input TO the unit. Flashlight Function: As advertised on the Amazon page, the unit has two lights on the jump-start port end of the unit, and can provide constant, flashing, or a flashing SOS signal. Owner's Manual: The manual is ok, and not written to be easily used in an emergency situation. Luckily the device is simple, and jumpstarting the car is basically as easy as turning the unit on, plugging the jumpstart module into the end of the unit, attaching the cables to the battery observing the proper polarity (Red to + and Black to -) and starting the car. Page 5 of the manual has a troubleshooting chart that could be helpful in some situations. Also, the manual recommends charging the unit every three months to maintain its effectiveness. ... show more

First and foremost, this 5-star rating is not based on actual performance of this jump starter from Uibi. This is due to that fact that thankfully, we have not needed it as a jump starter. However, these types of battery jumpers have been known to start an otherwise weak battery lacking sufficient current to turn the starter motor on vehicles. We recently attempted to start a 12V whole house generator that was not starting. Due to the smart circuitry, the jump starter failed to operate because of an internal flaw in the generator battery. It had a failed cell, thus only delivered 10 volts. The jumper didn't want to work and offered an error code for the generator battery. This starter kit is a thoughtfully designed self-contained jumper battery that also acts as a power bank for other battery-operated devices. With multiple power outlets, you can charge or operate phones and computers via the USB and USB-C ports. The jumper connection is located on the opposite end and has a keyed port to accept the included alligator clamp cables for jump starting purposes. Our observation of many devices that no longer include a fast charger transformer is a disappointment and this Uibi jump starter is in the same category. Considering the demands to recharge, we feel that this kit should include a wall charger, though they do advise on the Amazon page that it does not. During the charging cycle, the LED display flashes the primary number on the capacity display to indicate status. We were surprised to see the capacity status lose 3% just during the short time we tested the light function. The LED light offers a few different cycles, including "on," SOS mode and emergency flasher. Everything packs into a compact carrier that protects the jumper and keeps the various cables isolated from the battery pack. As previously mentioned, we have yet to test it's ability to start a car (or our diesel pick up for that matter), but we'd rather be prepared than have not roadside options in the event of need.
