  • It worked and was affordable
I liked that you just plug it in and it worked automatically. I had left my lights on overnight so in the morning there was no clicking when I tried to start it, no electricity. Completely dead. My confusion and worries when reading the reviews was that I wasn't sure if my idea of completely dead was the same as others. My battery was a used battery, but I had purchased it two months ago so it was a new used battery. If I left the lights on overnight and there was not even clicking when I tried to start the engine.....was that the same as someone who said they left their car in the garage all winter and had a completely dead battery? Someone who left it for a couple years and had a completely dead battery? I didn't know if it would have any energy at all. I connected the charger cables to the car battery without plugging the charger into the wall socket and nothing happened. I thought it was supposed to read the battery voltage on its own that way but for me it did not. I plugged the unit into the wall socket after and luckily it read that I was at 12.6v. Supposedly if you are under 12.5 you might have to do an extra step. The instructions were OK but semi lacking and you could tell it was written by someone whose first language wasn't English because a bit of the wording was confusing. The unit started flashing showing 12.7v and that it was charging at 8amps. I checked occasionally as I saw the voltage increase to 13.7v at a lower amp and finally 14.7v at 2.2 amps. This was an all day process approximately 20 hours. I also got interrupted once because I was at a hotel charging it and the supervisor said the charging cable was a tripping hazard and i had to unplug it when it said it was at 80% full. But the car started up at that point! And i revved it for about 15 minutes. But I wanted to have it fully charged. When the supervisor left I plugged the charger in again and it said it was at 60%. I went to sleep and woke up 6 hours later and the display read OFF and the car started up like nothing again so I am very satisfied. Do be prepared for it to take up to a full day though ... show more

  • Work's great and charges my 2 109 amp hour battery's in parallel no problem.
It says it has a top rating of a 150 amp hour charge but it handled 219 no problem. Now I have it fixing one of my 20 amp hour lawn and Garden batteries. I have 5 chargers already but my strongest one before this one was a 3 amp everstart battery charger and maintainer which did the job just fine and fast. I wanted something with more power because you are supposed to charge these big deep cycle batteries with a 10 amp charger from what the professionals told me. I Run several solar systems I built (3) plus I have a 2000 watt portable one on wheels that ways over 100 pounds and 200 watts of solar to go with that one. ( 2 100 watt panels) . I have 12 batteries all together and like to keep them charged fully all the time. I get a lot of rain here in Fl so sometimes my panels won't do the job of fully charging the batteries so It's nice to have another charger to add to the collection. Plus I like the pulse repair. I own a desalinator already but it's a single unit that hook's up to the battery when u charge it. But you can't charge more then 1.5 amps or u will blow the fuse of my desalinator but it work's great and already repaired 2 batteries just with that one. I bought it from Amazon for 11.99 and worth every penny. But it can take up to 3 weeks to fix one battery. So this one Say's 18 hour's but I'm sure it's at least 24. Other people gave it bad ratings but They must just be anal people. Expecting everything to be 100% perfect with no flaws. It Say's that it can't fix every battery so you shouldn't be butt hurt if it doesn't. Some just can't be saved, trust me I know. I saved 6 out of the 12 I worked on and I know what I'm doing. Even going as far as cleaning and changing the acid and still couldn't bring them back. I only recommend that as a last resort. You can do more damage to the battery Cleaning them. I had one that was 75% health and cleaned out the acid because it was black and had a lot of debree filtered the acid, cleaned out the battery with distilled water ( didn't do the baken soda trick or the Epsom salt) put the acid back and the battery lost 50 % more life down to 25% of it's life cycle. And I've done this a lot with no problem's. Always gaining life of the battery. So u win some u lose some. It's always better to try to regain the acid from the lead in my opinion. Remember baken soda also kiils the acid making the acid no good so when u clean the lead with it you are deactivating the acid that's still in the lead. Dump the acid and fill it up with distilled only then charge it on a high amp to remove the acid into the water making new acid. It's also not good to put different acid into the battery but to use the old acid. Unless no other choice. I've done every way and everything to repair batteries and YouTube is such crap when u see people claim there way work's. Trust me it doesn't. You will figure it out once you gain experience. Sorry for the extra info. Just thought it might help. ... show more

  • It does what it says is does and does it well
The charger has four modes: Charge Car battery, Charge Motorcycle battery, AGM/Gel mode (Charger is designed for 12V/24V lead-acid batteries, including AGM, EFB, GEL, SLA, and Flooded (WET) types) and Pulse Repair Mode. I have used the Car Charging and Pulse Repair modes. I was able to repair three batteries, two of which continue to hold their charge and are working like new. The 3rd battery continued to lose power rapidly, so it was beyond repair. (Any battery below about 40% capacity cannot be repaired.) I have also used it to charge another car battery and six deep cycle marine batteries. The charger did it all easily, though the repair mode took almost 24 hours - but it actually brought the batteries back to life. I am very impressed! ... show more

  • Charger seems to work but the manual is lacking
The physical charger seems to work OK but who ever wrote the manual forgot to actually include instructions for the unit itself. There is nothing telling you how to select the mode, or what is a pushbutton and what they are for. There appears to be many "soft spots" in the face plate which would normally indicate a pushbutton. Not many of them seem to have a use. Its not rocket science, but ANY user manual should explain what interface controls are and what they are for. I am charging my first battery now and it does seem to work just fine. The readout does give a good amount of information. I haven't verified whether or not it is accurate, but it is there none the less. If the manual was better I would probably give it 5 stars given what it is supposed to be vs what it is. ... show more
