  • Basic skimmer that works well for some usages
Size: 72" Pole
I wanted something simple for my infinity edge overflow pool and for my use it is great. I ordered the 72" version - that version does have locking push pins to keep the rods connected. The description says that it will fit a regular pool pole but this one has the locking pin on only one side - so not sure how well it would work. I did not notice any wobbliness or the sections coming apart - so I was happy. While I have a regular mesh skimmer with a deep net that is folded over itself, that skimmer is very problematic when cleaning the mesh. So I wanted something real simple - no deep net so that I could grab leaves/bugs and then simply flip it and wash under the faucet and mesh is clean again. It actually worked better than that for my usage - I collected the bigger leaves, flipped it over and tapped and the leaves fell out from the mesh. When nearly done, my last sweep was for the smaller particles and once done, took it to the sink and just ran the faucet and the mesh was clean. Nice and simple! Collecting leaves at the bottom of the overflow pool was a bit harder since if you didn't do it right, what you collect could become loose - remember that the mesh is a very shallow mesh. Also the problem with the leaves at the bottom is that they are really at the bottom. I used the skimmer to stir up the water and caught the leaves as they left the bottom. I tapped and disposed the leaves as I went along - it was a slow process - 1-4 leaves at a time but when I factor in the fact that I did not have to clean the pool vac filter, my overall effort was much lower. Overall, this is good for collecting debris on the surface, collecting debris at the bottom but very few at a time, I don't think it is good for fine dirt at the bottom - would need the pool vac for that. For the money spent, based on my 1st usage, this is a lifesaver. ... show more

  • Skimmer on a light weight pole
Size: 60" Pole
I really like this type of hand skimmer, the netting is of a tight weave which help with small particles. I also like using it to "shovel" the bottom of my above ground pool, it really does a great job and it gets up more than my robot. The only draw back is that the handle seems more flimsy than the standard poles. On the other hand, the pole has survived all of my grandchildren playing with it and that says a lot! ... show more

  • Simple and easy
Size: 72" Pole
Easy set up, and easy to use. Only reason it’s not 5 starts is that it could be more sturdy. Where the poles are cut are a little sharp. I like that I can take it apart to store it for the winter, makes pool clean up quick.

  • Excellent Pool Skimmer – Works Like a Charm!
Size: 72" Pole
This pool skimmer has exceeded my expectations! It picks up leaves, bugs, and other debris effortlessly and keeps our pool looking crystal clear. The net is durable but fine enough to catch even small particles, and the pole is sturdy and extends to a great length without feeling flimsy. It’s lightweight and easy to maneuver, making daily cleanups quick and hassle-free. I’ve used cheaper ones in the past that bent or tore easily, but this one feels like it will last a long time. Definitely a must-have for any pool owner—super effective, well-made, and worth every penny! ... show more

  • Great cheap, temporary skimmer for a beginner
Size: 72" Pole
TLDR; PROS: affordable price, 72" length, fine mesh net NEUTRAL: slightly flimsy pole but still easy to control CONS: it deteriorates immediately (black discoloration by day 2, small hole by day 3) Overall it was an affordable price ($12.99), excellent length (72"/6') for my 18' inflatable round pool, & surprisingly the fine mesh netting really does catch some of the smallest dirt particles(!) but unfortunately it started to deteriorate immediately so it's definitely not durable/long-lasting. On the 2nd day of using it, black discoloration had already formed on the metal pole beneath each locking button. On day 3, the net had formed a small hole along the edge (where most debris collects &/or passes by). Imo, it's excellent as a cheap TEMPORARY skimmer or for beginners but I don't feel confident it'll last all season (which is only about 3 months in Idaho). I've only used this for 10 days/1.5 weeks at this point & still plan to use it as long as possible but I'd be surprised if it lasts 1 full month & if I get a month or more of use out of it, I will happily update my review since I like this enough that I'd rate it 5 stars if it was more resistant to discoloration & the net had stronger resistance to forming holes. PS. Also, the pole does feel slightly flimsy/wobbly from having small pieces connecting to create one long pole (which I don't mind since it's not flimsy enough to make controlling it difficult) but if you prefer firm poles this ain't the one unfortunately. ... show more

  • Good quality
Size: 72" Pole
I had one before but this has a tighter mesh which is much better. Easy to put together and though it feels flimsy it is very sturdy.

  • Heavy duty and effective!
Size: 72" Pole
This skimmer is so nice. Its much heavier duty than our previous one so the strain on my wrists is lessened. It gets a lot of things out of our above ground pool, even tiny things. It comes apart for easy storage. I only gave four because I hate how water gets in the handle and drips down my arm but that doesn't affect functionality. Hoping this one lasts us a lot longer than our last one. ... show more
