- Heavy Duty: A professional in-line leaf canister designed to trap leaves and debris effectively, which prevents the clogging of pool pumps, skimmer baskets, and filters, so your pool filtering system will need less servicing. Use it to keep your pool clean and ready for use. The canister attaches to most name-brand suction, manual, and automatic pool cleaner hoses.
- Easy To Open: The easy-to-open screw-on lid provides quick access to the large plastic mesh debris basket. The durable, solid, clear canister body allows you to see at a glance when the filter basket requires emptying. The canister also includes a very fine mesh filter bag to use if you desire to capture very fine debris. The bag is not required, as the leaf canister can be operated effectively with just the filter basket installed.
- Premium Quality: A 15" long by 6" diameter leaf canister that fits in-line between two 1-1/2" pool cleaner vacuum hose sections. The leaf canister should be plumbed between the first and second hose sections from the pool wall.
- The leaf canister has a 1.5" female hose connection cuff, so a 1.5" hose with a male connection cuff is required for a direct connection to it. If your vacuum hose has a female connection cuff, then a male-to-male hose conversion adapter will be necessary to connect it to the canister. The conversion adapter is not included but is available for separate purchase.

It'll take one adapter for the hose fittings that's not included, but otherwise, it works as advertised. The key for me was the fine mesh net so the smallest debris doesn't pass through and clog up the filter. Easy to disassemble and clean. Letting it dry out after use and storing it out of the sun will help it last longer. I've used it twice in about three months and it still looks new. I would buy this again. Update: 9/8/22 (after 4 months) - I've used the canister 3 times in the 4 months I've had it and it has worked fine until the 3rd time. I had a little more debris than normal and after about 5 minutes, the canister imploded, and developed 2 vertical cracks along the canister body and 2 stress areas. Since the product has a 1 year warranty, I submitted the warranty claim on line and contacted TCP Global customer service ( agent for US Pool Supply products) the next day. I was overwhelmed with the positive response I got. The representative verified my purchase information and said they would be sending out a whole new unit, not just a replacement canister. I received the replacement unit 2 days after contacting TCP Global in a box marked "Rush". Just amazing, what great customer service. I can unquestionably give a 5 star recommendation for products sold by TCP Global/US Pool Supply. I still give the canister 4.5 stars. It works, but the plastic canister could be a little stronger. My thought about why the fractures occurred in the first place is that there probably was too much negative pressure from the debris in the silt bag. If you are picking up a lot of fine sand or silt, you should empty the bag several times during a cleaning session.

This cracked and is unusable after 6 days. I have used 2 similar smaller canisters from other suppliers for many years. I have never had either of them crack like this before. Canister walls are way too thin on this model.

Great product! However, the o ring & mesh bag only lasted 10 months. Could not get ahold of company for year warranty, email was incorrect. Ended up buying another & bought extended warranty this time

I used this to try to vacuum out my parents’ pool after the company that opened it basically left it to become a pond. There’s so much down there and the water is so cloudy that I ended up essentially vacuuming by feel. This trap helped by allowing me to at least see the water quality coming up from the bottom… I managed to pull probably at least a dozen basket loads of decomposed crud from the bottom until one day I was vacuuming and suddenly heard a loud pop as the outflow hose blew off the 2.5hp pump I’m using but with hardly any water coming out. Turned out the external canister had finally decided that suction was just too much and cracked right along the side allowing all that air in. I figure I got a fair amount of use out of it in the last couple of weeks, but if you’re in a similar situation, look for one with thicker walls to handle this amount of suction.
