Nugget ice has a soft texture, so it melts more easily than cube or bullet ice. This is normal and the ice can be used as usual. Why is there an occasional chirping sound during operation? This is the normal sound of ice being released from the evaporator. No action is needed. Why is my ice maker producing ice very slowly compared with other people’s feedback? Under certain ambient and water temperature conditions, our ice maker has an initial ice-making average around time of 6–15 minutes. If your ice-making speed is significantly slower, please check the user manual , ambient and water temperature. Why is my ice maker making ice with a sandy or slush-like consistency? This is a great ice machine. The ice that it makes is nice, love the nugget size, and the machine runs pretty quietly, as well. I've had mine for about 6 months and it was working fine, up until last week. Under the troubleshooting guide for my issue, it suggested to contact customer service. I emailed them and got a response in less than 24 hrs. They helped me troubleshoot and it was quickly realized that the problem was unfixable. I was asked for a photo(I sent video also) and my address. In 4 days, I received a new replacement! This 100% beats the heck out of the Frigidaire Gallery countertop nugget ice maker I had. The ice making is faster, the nugget quality is better, cleaning is easier AND it is waaaaay quieter than the other one. Let's start with the speed of the ice making. Within 15 minutes I have ice. Enough for at least a cup. The nugget: soft, easily crunchable, perfect sized just like that Sonic ice! Noise is basically non-existent compared to my previous machine. I don't even know this one is running most of the time unless I look over and see the display. Cleaning: It comes with packets for cleaning. Pour one in, set it to clean and in about 7 minutes it is done. I run mine with the same packet twice then drain via the easy to access drain plug in the bottom of the water well. Then I rinse twice and start it making ice again. I have an alarm set.for a reminder to clean it monthly, but I dont really need it because I can tell by the way the water looks in the well that it needs cleaning. Also, I always make sure to wipe down the sides of the well and wash the ice basket once monthly. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on the Frigidaire. Their warranty is a joke because it is no longer made by actual Frigidaire. I just tossed in in the trash. I didnt even get 3 months out of it before it started screaming and dying. ... show more

This ice maker is NOT quiet like the description says!! The fan is VERY LOUD. Also the ice basket has repeatedly turned itself so while it's making ice, so when fresh ice comes out it is landing on the back of the basket!! And every time that it happens, you can't save any of the ice, really, maybe a scoop, and the rest gets dumped back into the water! The digital screen is cool but only has 2 settings.. clean and make ice. So the digital screen is ultimately pointless. The instruction guide is very minimal and doesn't offer much info about the product. If I still had the original boxes I'd return it and get my money back. But unfortunately I don't, so I guess I'm stuck with it... 1000% recommend NOT purchasing this ice maker!! With how much I paid for it, it should be waaaay nicer, have more features, WORK CORRECTLY, and not be incredibly loud from day 1.. ... show more

We really liked this ice maker. The good-the water reservoir and ice basket are larger than in our last one, so we only refilled this one maybe once a day (family of 4). The ice didn't build up on the side and trigger the ice maker full shut off like our previous one. It is quieter than our last one too, and seemed to make ice just as fast. The bad-it doesn't turn itself back on as the ice melts and refills the water reservoir. The really bad-we've only used distilled and RO water in it. We've been fighting with it for a couple of months now to get it to make ice. We've cleaned it over and over with the cleaning solution. We also cleaned the vents as suggested with a vacuum and compressed air. It's to the point that it literally makes 2 ice cubes every time we start it, and that's it. We bought it 6 months, and we're giving up on it. We'll try another brand. ... show more

Came from another ice maker and I miss two things: 1) size. This unit is tiny. It might be good if it’s just for you and maybe one other person, but for a family of four where everyone uses ice for their drinks and water bottles around the clock, this was constantly empty and needing more water. 2) the ability to start making ice on its own after there’s enough water. It has a sensor to tell you when it’s full of ice and it has a sensor to tell you when the water level is low, but it doesn’t have a sensor to tell it when the water has been refilled. You have to push the “ice making” button twice to get it to restart. Not a huge problem, but if you’re like me and leave your ice machine on 24hrs a day, you could come back to an empty ice machine after the ice in the basket melts. With my old ice maker, the machine would sense the water was low and stop. But then all the ice that was already made and in the basket would melt and fill the reservoir again and the machine would sense that and start back up on making a new batch small gripes, I know. Overall, it’s a nice, cute little ice maker and my kids love nugget ice. ... show more
