I recently purchased the TYMO Ring Hair Straightener Comb, and I must say, it's become an essential part of my haircare routine. This innovative product combines the best of both worlds by acting as a comb and a flat iron, making hairstyling a breeze. I absolutely adore this hot comb-style straightener. It performs exceptionally well when it comes to achieving perfectly straight roots without the risk of burning myself (unlike my boyfriend's attempts with the TYMO). It leaves my hair looking as sleek as if a professional stylist had done it. Surprisingly, I actually prefer it over my flat iron. It allows me to work with larger sections of hair, significantly speeding up the straightening process (usually around an hour, give or take a few minutes). To get the best results, I always start by blow-drying my hair. I haven't tried straightening my hair without pre-blow-drying it, mainly because I live in a very humid area and rely on humidity control products like "WOW" to combat frizz. The only challenge I haven't quite mastered is getting my ends as straight as the rest of my hair. Admittedly, I'm due for a trim. I still have to use my flat iron on my ends to make them look nice. To ensure a smooth finish, I use a brush to chase both the straightener and flat iron, as I've found this technique delivers the best results, especially for my damaged ends. Occasionally, I've experienced the straightener shutting off when I accidentally hit the button. However, overall, it's well-designed, not too heavy, and comfortable to hold. It's worth noting that the back of the straightener does get quite warm, although not hot enough to cause damage or discomfort—just enough to be noticeable. As a tip, I like to approach straightening from different angles to ensure that all my curls are properly straightened. This means working under the section, above the section, and sometimes on one side of the section, depending on where I'm working on my head. Additionally, I don't use the highest heat setting to avoid potential heat damage, yet it still manages to leave my hair bone straight. Here's why I'm loving it: Pros: 1. Efficient Styling: As someone with naturally curly hair, I was initially skeptical about whether the TYMO Ring could replace my flat iron. While it doesn't give me pin-straight hair like a flat iron, it delivers a fantastic blow-dry look that I adore. It's a time-saver, and I can effortlessly achieve a sleek and stylish appearance. 2. Silky Smooth Hair: Using the TYMO Ring leaves my hair incredibly soft to the touch. My husband even commented on how my hair shines after using it, which is a huge confidence booster. 3. Versatile Styling: Unlike my flat iron, the TYMO Ring allows me to do various hairstyles with ease. It's particularly impressive at getting close to the roots, which is crucial for someone with curly hair like mine. You can even use it to touch up curls if you prefer roller sets. 4. Read what you like in order by subtitles What i love What i dislike Opinions on Accesories included Brief introduction: I have really curly hair and i let my hair air dry than brush it and use the tymo… the results that i get are not flat straight hair as i would with a flat iron. It gives like a blow dry look. See images for the before (after brushing curly air dry hair) and after (when using tymo). I love my hair pretty straight, so when i wanted it like that i jumped from my tymo to my flat iron. What i love…. Saves time My hair is so soft to the touch After using the tymo one day my husband said my hair shined, never heard him say that When i do my hair with the flat iron i dont get to actually do hairstyles… that may sound difficult to comprehend. But when i style with the tymo alone my hair is more manageable to do hairstyles and i do feel its less heat damage even though i use the highest heat setting. Anither thing i love is how it gets the roots. As i mentioned earlier i have CURLY hair…. I’m not sure how the brush can do it but it gets the roots and that is a HUGE plus. One of my favorite parts. Because if you are a person that does rollers only you can choose to take down your roller set and just pass the tymo on the roots and keep the curls of your roller set. Its a nice product to have. And i feel it can NOT really be compared to a flat iron… that wouldn't really be fair. I have both and i am happy i have my tymo and bought it for $39.99 before taxes on Amazon. What i dislike…… The position of the power button - as i style i have found myself turning it off. So the tymo has a 30 minute automatic timer and turns off. The bad part and that i dont like about this is, that when it turns off on me i am not aware. Soooo last time i realized i was styling my hair and never realized it had turned off so i was only styling with the remainder hear left on the brush. I feel it would of been mice if it made some sort of beep to alert the user that it turned off 30 minutes in. I feel next time i would put a 30 minute alarm on and turn the tymo off myself and than turn it back on to have it restart. Its NOT a huge inconvenience, but I need to be more alert… if you continue looking at the brush you can notice it turns off when the lights go out but iMm focusing on other things as i style… Lets talk Tymo accesories—- I do NOT like the glove, why? Because it has these pink little dots on it that don’t help with touching the hair. I feel the glove would be more useful if those were removed from the design. The glove is supposed to be worn in the hand touching the hair not the one holding the Tymo so for me it was a dissapointment to touch my hair and have it against that glove. So i don't use it at all. THE clips that come with the Tymo i do love!! They are great, amazing hold! The tymo bag to put the brush in is cute. And made of a really nice material. The little detangling brush is not bad. I use it, not amazing but nice to have. I would of changed the bristle. ... show more
