Description

Wet to dry straightening with air. No hot plates. No heat damage.¹ The Dyson Airstrait dries and straightens hair simultaneously. Take hair from wet to a finished look - with one machine. Straighten and dry hair – at the same time. Three pre-set temperatures -- 175°F, 230°F, and 285°F – take your hair from wet to finished style, with one machine. Touch-up or refresh your style from dry. Style at 250°F or 285°F or use the optional Boost mode for maximum styling impact. Pin and roll for lift and volume with a ‘90s-inspired ‘Rachel’ look. A polished, everyday look, straightened from wet. Smooth and stretch hair to create a naturally straight blow out. Glass bead thermistors, located in the machine arms, regulate airflow temperature up to 30 times per second, to prevent heat damage and protect hair’s natural shine. A 13-blade impeller spins up to 106,000rpm, propelling 11.9 liters of air through the machine per second. This generates 3.6kPa of air pressure, powerful enough to straighten hair as it dries. Dyson Airstrait uses high-pressure airflow to straighten hair as it dries. Air is precisely heated and projected evenly through the tress as you style – with no need for extreme heat.¹ Airflow is projected downwards at a 45° angle to create the tension needed to align hair for a smooth end style – with less damage and breakage.² Airstrait Supersonic Nural Supersonic Airwrap Corrale

  • Amazing for straightening curly hair
I have curly hair and have always hated that I have to blow dry my hair or wait to air dry before using a flat iron. Getting my hair from my natural to straight used to take me 2-3 hours. I can now have my hair from fully wet to dry and straight in about 20 minutes. And when I want refresh it after it’s already straight it’s more like 5-10 minutes. It’s a game changer!!! It also works SO WELL if you want to straighten your hair while it’s already dry. I was genuinely shocked because I was under the impression that for it to work well your hair had to be wet but that is not the case. I can use this on wet or dry hair and get the same result. Also the shine and volume I’m able to achieve using this is incredible. I also love that this is not a flat iron, just a really cool blow dryer. I have super fine hair that breaks VERY easily and since I started using this in place of a flat iron I’ve noticed significantly less breakage. I know the heat is still damaging but I use a good heat protectant and my ends are visibly less damaged than they were 6 months ago when I was using a flat iron 1-3 times a week. I know you can technically achieve the same results with a round brush and hair dryer but that takes skill and practice. I’ve never been able to achieve sleek straight hair with just blow dryer and round brush. It always comes out frizzy and poofy and I end up having to follow up with a flat iron. Which takes forever and it’s 2 rounds of heat styling which is horrible for your hair. I am obsessed with the air straight and if you love having straight hair you should ditch your flat iron and get this. Your hair will thank you and you will save so much time. ... show more

  • Only Hair Tool You’ll Need
If you typically straighten your hair, this tool is a game changer. For reference, I have long, curly hair that is thick and fine. I normally let my hair air dry overnight and use a flat iron in the morning to straighten. It takes so much time, I usually hate hair day. With this tool, I was able to go from wet hair to completely dry and straight in 30 minutes. It is absolutely amazing! Using a traditional hair dryer and straighter, it normally takes me at minimum 1 hour, to do that all at one time. It’s important to read the directions as they provide styling tips and give more detail on all the functions. More than enough power and heat to get the job done. Left my hair feeling so soft and shiny, no damage. So excited to keep using this tool as hair day just got easier and way more fun! I have used the Shark Flex Style to try and straighten my hair and the Dyson is much better. It is definitely lighter to hold and took less passes on my hair to get it straight and dry from wet. The Dyson only took 2 passes per section of hair where the Shark Flex Style took 4-5 passes. Also, the sound pitch and noise level on the Dyson seems quieter than the Shark Flex Style, as it has a weird high pitch sound when compared to the Dyson. The auto sensing on the Dyson is a very nice feature as well that the Shark Flex Style lacks. All in all, if straightening is your go to style, this tool is worth every penny! ... show more

  • Most incredible hair device ever! Most incredible hair device ever!
In my wildest dreams, I never thought a device like this would be available. The Dyson AirStraight is so, so good. It's a game changer. I have very curly hair. It's so curly, like I look plugged into electricity. I've been blowdrying and straightening my hair for decades. My hair was so damaged (despite always buying top of the line hair tools) so, for the last year I've been mostly wearing it back. I wasn't feeling cute and then...ta da...my stylist recommends the Dyson AirStraight! It's amazing. It is 100% a har dryer and straightener in one tool!!! I use it on my wet product-filled hair and, in two to three passes with tension, a section is DONE! It uses air and low heat and makes my hair so smooth and full and straight. I've never been able to blow dry my hair as well, and using this tool is so easy . I am so thankful for this hair tool. Absolutely worth every penny. ... show more

  • AMAZING
TL:DR - my wavy/curly hair typically takes 45 min - 1 hour to straighten. I used the air straight and it took 17 and a half minutes to go from wet hair to dry and straight. It also worked on dry waves/curls to dry straight. Easy to use. Highly recommend. I honestly was a little skeptical about this when I first decided to try it. I have wavy/curly hair and it takes FOREVER to straighten it. Blow drying takes a long time for me, and I honestly lack the brush/hand/eye coordination to do a great job. So basically I have to dry my hair and then go over it with a flat iron. I have tried multiple tools that are blow dry brushes to try to get my hair from wet to dry/straight and most of them do nothing but create frizz. Even after finding one that semi-worked, I still had to spend time going over my hair with a flat iron to get it straight and not frizzy. This whole process would typically take me a minimum of 45 min, but usually closer to an hour. I had read reviews about the Dyson air straight greatly reducing that time and it being super easy to use. I decided to try it and assumed that even if it did get my hair close to straight, I would still need to go over it with a flat iron. I was hoping this would just drastically cut down the overall time it took. The first time I tried it my hair was dry and curly. I had some free time and decided to see how the air straight would do in this capacity. I figured, since it was using air, it wouldn’t be the best at going from dry-curly to dry- straight. I was wrong. Within what seemed to be about 15 minutes my hair was straight!! I even quickly “set” it with the cool air setting. I was honestly astonished at how well this machine worked!! Then it was time for the real test. Would it be able to take my wet, out the shower hair, and straighten it quickly? I wasn’t sure. I watched the video in the Dyson app when I first opened it (I think it’s about 2 min long, nothing crazy) which explained how to use the tool to dry the roots before you start straightening. I decided to use the stopwatch function on my phone to see how long it actually took me to do my hair. I hit start on the timer and started straightening with the air straight. Most sections of my hair were dry and straight with ONE pass of the machine. This was honestly amazing because using a flat iron typically takes several. Some areas needed two passes, but this was still so much better and quicker than anything else I’ve used. Plus it was my first time doing it so I’m sure there is a learning curve. When my hair looked done I went over it with the cool setting to “set” the style and hit stop on my phone. It took me 17 min and 29 seconds to go from wet waves/curls to dry straight hair. I am honestly amazed and will never be able to straighten my hair any other way. ... show more

  • My Hair Broke Off in Clumps! I Do Not Recommend!
I don't normally spend this much money on a hair styling tool but the advertised claims that this product doesn't damage your hair and having a tool that dries your hair straight was very appealing. Yes you just run this through your hair, and it blows it straight. That part was pretty amazing but that was it. You have to dry your roots first. It straightens 2.5ish inches from your roots due to how close you can get this tool from your scalp(the air blows out down the hair so there is a gap from scalp to where it dries), AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHERE MY HAIR BROKE OFF!!! And yes all the way around! I used this on the lowest setting too! After using this for about a month approximately 2 times a week on the wet to dry setting(which is exactly why I bought it) I noticed very long strands of hair by the masses in the shower. And sure enough I had breakage about 2.5 inch's from my scalp and patches of short hair bushes all around my head. Of course this was all realized just after the 30day return policy. I cannot I believed that I wasted all of this money on something that ruined my hair that will take forever to grow out. Back to the standard blow dryer and brush set up, which I obviously wish I stuck with. One more thing. They way you have to use this it takes twice as long to blow out your hair. Even though I only had to do 2 or 3 runs down each section, you have to do a lot of sections which takes forever. It was very inconvenient to use on top of it. I love my Dyson vacuum and its amazing power so I figured this would be great. Epic Fail! Nightmare Product. ... show more

  • Amazing for fine hair! Not sure about others
Bought for my 14 year old daughter, and also maybe for my wife to share because on the product page it has a white and a black woman using the product. I thought I had found a way to take out two Christmas presents with one stone, but sadly my wife was unable to use it. She's is Dominican, and I don't think her hair is all that coarse, but she does straighten it every 1-2 weeks (not counting touch-ups). She also doesn't perm anymore but instead uses a very strong smelling Keratin treatment every three months, so maybe her hair is naturally coarse and she does a great job transforming it. She's done this for every 15 years of our marriage (the straightening), so I know a little about this topic. My wife said the Airstrait doesn't get hot enough, and the black woman in the product profile is wearing a wig. The model differently has coarser hair than my wife's, based on pictures when she was a teenager, so I have to believe her. My daughter, however, has the finest of them all hair, like me, and the Airstrait is like a magic wand for her. We even use it on our little Yorkie because it's so quiet! I mean, we were using a hair blower and our poor dog would have a nervous breakdown when we used it on her. With the Airstrait our Yorkie still cries and shakes a little but it is a big improvement. Normally I wouldn't give full stars to a product that has misleading images on it's profile page but because it is truly wonderful for my daughter's hair and incredibly quiet I'm making an exception for the Airstrait. I recommend. ... show more

  • Works on 3C curl wet to dry! Works on 3C curl wet to dry!
Purchased the Dyson Airstrait Flat Iron for my daughter with 3C curls. First thought is will it work on her hair? Our hope is less damage and product to her hair to allow her to naturally style her hair from day to day. No product used in the images to see the Dyson’s work alone. We love the idle energy saving mode. I love that it’s safer for my pre-teen to use and not burn her. Extra features: switch to place it in closed lock position and a silicon mat to place the device on in between passes or to cool/store. She is so happy with the results! It still took time, from 3 hour process to an hour wet to dry. The slower pass straightens best. She’s impatient, so she made quick passes. I recommend for time! I’m hoping to save money on product and protect her beautiful hair. I will repost in a month to keep answer long term questions. Hope this helps others who are questioning like me. ... show more

  • Wow!
Shockingly great. My husband has long strong metal rocking hair! Used to take staged drying of up to 2 to 3 hours to fully dry. This straightener took 20 minutes! Plus you can't burn yourself, doesn't damage hair and if you combine it with PHYTO Phytokeratine Repairing Heat Protecting Spray, it's so soft you can't stop touching it! Expensive, yes. My hair is thin and I certainly don't need this, but for those looking for the blow out of you dreams without the salon cost, give this a try! Got it during the holiday sales with no regrets. My only wish is that they come up with a solution for the GIGANTIC power transformers that have to be dealt with on their hair care tools. ... show more
