This item had a low rating, however I thought I would give it a try having used this type of cook top. The unit wouldn't heat as noted by previous reviews and I felt it was unsafe for anyone to use not knowing if the thermostat would ever get to boil mode and therefore required your attention at all times. I was looking for an induction burner that I could use at my kitchen table for when I am making soap and decided on this one. It's lightweight and easy to clean. It heated up really fast, so make sure you take note of that so that you don't shock your pan when you're using it. But otherwise, it worked great for what I needed it for. It works very well, it the instructions are really unclear for a few things. I have used this a few times now and it is handy for when you need an extra burner, but since the functions of the buttons are still unclear to me so I use it to mostly boil until I can play with it more.

I bought two to put in a studio apartment. One did not work at all, and the other over heated when I tested them. I'm happy I tested them before I rented the apartment to someone without a cooktop of some kind.

This thing doesn’t heat up. Tried all of the settings and none heat. Have to have the box to return. Box was already gone in the trash. Now I have this thing that does nothing. Sad. I’d give it zero stars if that was an option

Disclaimer: I received this item for free from the Vine program. I didn't get paid for the review and, in fact, I Pay 45% in Federal and State Income Taxes for each item. I really like the TYEMUI Induction Burner Hot Plate as a third burner, the only burner, and for outside cooking. Reminds me of my flat top stove except this burner is portable. Comes with dedicated touch buttons and the option to increase or decrease the temperature. Flat top makes cleaning a breeze. The unit didn't recognize a 6" SS skillet I placed on the burner and I assume it didn't like the rolled bottom of the skillet. Great burner for my 10-inch cast iron skillet. ... show more
