easy install nice soft start only pulls around 9 amps with either air or heat. startup is about 1.6 amps so it starts off my inverter that is 1500 watts and 200 amps of battery. noise level is alot better than my old unit.

This is the absolute bomb of an RV AC! I have a Winnie ERA Sprinter van. Originally had a Coleman 13,500btu ac but was VERY loud and the thermostat was located on the ceiling on the ac. Fan speed was high/medium/low. Temp was variable. I spent a few years with this and it was absolute torture because it either froze you out or was not cool enough. Cold spikes followed by hot spikes. Just could not make it comfortable. Changed to a RecPro 9,500btu which was better but was not big enough to cool the van in hot weather. Bought this 13,500btu and it solved the freeze/hot spikes, uses much less current and has a heat pump. Inverter technology eliminated the hot/cold spikes. Quieter but not silent. Does make some noise but that’s the only downside I have found so far. It’s not nearly as loud as the first unit. If you are going to have an ac you cannot totally eliminate noise so bite the bullet and accept that. Price is high but when you get to a place where no matter what you do a less expensive unit just won’t do the job, go with this one and don’t look back. Changed my camping experience totally. I have been RV’ing for 55 years+ so this is not my first ac rodeo. I highly recommend it. If it has longevity, which remains to be seen, this solves so many ac issues. I would buy again even if it only lasts 3 years. At some point a high functioning unit is worth it even if it doesn’t last forever. I’ll update if I have issues but so far this is the best thing out there in the 13,500btu rooftop class.

Bought this unit 6 months ago, used it in desert environments, heating is very nice to take chill out of air in winter and helps moderate the temperature in hot weather. Only down side, the supplied bolts were too short when installed as a third unit in a Montana and its loud. Had to order longer bolts separately -Turbro doesn’t have any.. Since it is a direct dump it is much louder than the ducted system. But overall does the job well. App works well and customer service was top notch.

I installed two of these Greenland inverter AC units in my Fleetwood Bounder RV to replace the original setup. I was excited because they’re inverter units and should, in theory, run more efficiently from my solar/battery system. The app works great — easy to control remotely — but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The main problems: • Noise: These units are LOUD. Even at lower fan speeds, they’re disruptive inside the RV. • Thermostat accuracy: The built-in temperature sensor is located right next to the cold air outlet, under a plastic cover that gets extremely cold when the unit runs. This plastic is in the return airflow path, so the sensor reads air much colder than the actual room. In my setup, the AC reads 62°F while any other sensor in the same space reads 74–75°F. • Proven in testing: If I turn off the AC for just 5 minutes (with another AC in the room still running), the thermostat reading quickly jumps 10–15°F higher to the true room temperature. • Defeats the inverter advantage: Because of the inaccurate readings, the units rarely ramp down like inverter ACs should, running at full speed unnecessarily and wasting battery power. • No external thermostat option: There’s no way to connect a separate, more accurate sensor to fix the problem. If the thermostat placement were redesigned or made adjustable, these could be excellent for RV solar setups. As they are now, they’re just noisy, inefficient units with a good app. I wouldn’t buy them again unless Greenland addresses this sensor design flaw. 🔄 Update: Tuya Automation Workaround (Testing in Progress) 🔄 Since the unit uses a Tuya-based app, I was able to integrate both ACs into Tuya Smart and paired them with a Tuya-compatible external temperature sensor. I then created three automation scenes: 1. If room temp > 75°F → Turn both ACs ON 2. If room temp > 74°F → Set ACs to 64°F 3. If room temp < 73°F → Set ACs to 74°F (lower fan speed) This workaround bypasses the faulty onboard thermostat and uses accurate external temperature readings to control the units. The automations are running now and seem to be working, but I’ll update after further testing.

Amazing ac with heat pump. It runs directly off my lipo batteries 600 amp hrs running ac in 95 degree weather for 13 hrs straight at 71 degrees because my wife sleeps like a polar bear while im bundled up in blankets, lol no generator completely silent from outside rv and still had 43 percent battery in morning, I keep it running while on ferry and putting in gas because its silent and everyone inside in cold ac with rv turned off, once it reaches your desired temp we ran an ampTest and it clocked it at 7.8 amps at 71 degrees, the rv tech told me I can't believe what im seeing the unit before was clocking in at 25 amps continously never drop below 25 amps. I highly recommend this product heat works excellent too but noticed it does use a slightly bit more amps than ac, ran heater for 13 hrs in 45 degrees at 74 degrees and it used up about 2 percent more than ac still outstanding all electric no propane needed, sometimes we walk up to rv just to hear if its running its that silent

I think the key takeaway with this unit is that they spent about 95% of their budget for the unit on the outdoor inverter tech and completely cheaped out on the inside unit, control interface, etc. There are so many grievances I have over the unit, one that comes to mind is pushing the same button 6 times to turn on a feature (it's in the manual) this is so janky. A big one is the thermostat. It's located up inside the unit and will read far colder than the room (in AC mode) or far hotter in heat mode, this means that it can be 59 in a small room and the unit, set to 67, is turned off because its thermostat reads 67. I tried it in dry mode all night yesterday and it made no impact on the high humidity in the room. It's very loud but if they hadn't cheaped out on the indoor unit's quality and ducted it different it could be much quieter because most of the noise comes from air turbulence as it leaves the unit. The remote is just outright janky.

Edit: manufacturer shipped replacement part right away. Awesome company and product. There were no reviews but I took a chance on it as I was looking for a quiet unit with heat. Product comes shipped in two separate shipments that probably won't come on the same day so don't worry like I did that I might have ordered the wrong thing (again!). I am replacing an older unit that still worked but was loud and had a huge power draw when kicking in. Removal was harder than installation as old unit was silicone glued to the roof. Cleaned it all off and dropped on new unit in it's place. New unit slightly lighter but not much so have two people. Don't slide the unit on the roof as it could damaged the foam ring gasket. Description mentions 12v wire not included so that confused me what that would be needed for, but it's not needed anywhere. So I got it installed and went to snap in the last cover piece on the inside and one of the snaps was broke. Honestly, this should be redesigned as it feels cheap the way it snaps in. There's a chance i broke it, pulling it off for installation. Make sure you push on it to release it. One side hooks in and one side will release when pushed on. This wasn't in the directions and the only reason I deducted a star. So how does it works? Well it's 40 degrees outside right now, I turned the heater on for 30 minutes and the trailer was warm already with it set at 70. I turned the air on just to hear how loud it was. Wasnt disappointed. I would say about the same as a home ceiling fan on high. Can't comment yet on how well it cools. I may update this in the summer. I'll keep it at 4 stars until I see if manufacturer will ship a replacement part for the snap in piece that broke. It'll get 5 stars for sure if so.

You need this unit on your camper!!!! I've never been so impressed with a roof hvac unit. I have a black series Hq21 camper. I hated that old fashioned style knob turner of a roof air that they include with this camper. It's an off grid camper, solar power, etc so i was trying to get did that draws less power. This unit is the one and The install of this unit was a joke. Even if your an idiot, go watch a couple YouTube videos on how to install this unit. I love the heat pump and it even has a de humidifier built in. And yes the only negative this is the thermostat is off, mine is 11° off. Hopefully I can contact the manufacturer and get that resolved.
