I like the way this looks very easy to install. Instructions tell you how to use the remote but don't loose it because I still need to see what each thing does. The only reason I gave a 4 star is because it is not very good for heat at all. I do have it on the highest temperature and have regular heater running but figured it would warm up the living room a little more than what it is.     • nice for ambiance, but if your room has a high ceiling, the heating effect is minimal
Purchased this item because our wood burning fireplace is no longer efficient nor that safe, so we thought a nice electric insert would be nice for some local heat plus the added ambience of colorful artificial flames. This unit is pretty much an easy setup....take it out of the box, and set it on your hearth if you want it to be freestanding (which is what we have done). It also comes with a small base to raise it up a few inches if necessary. Then plug it in and turn it on. It you want to mount it or do a more complicated inset, that also can be accomplished, but that is not what we are doing with the unit. In terms of heat output, we have a very high ceiling in our living room, which then negates the ability of the unit to heat the entire room. The fan blower is ok, but not enough to spread the heat well into the room. If your room is smaller with a normal ceiling height, then the heat output would be quite nice. In terms of ambience, it is a nice addition to the room, and for that we are satisfied. The remote is easy to use, the flame speed and colors are easily changed, and if you are close enough to the unit, you will feel the effects of the heat and blower. Overall our rating of this fireplace inset is very good and we'd recommend it to anyone wanting to use it for the purposes stated above. ... show more

    • Flame problems
The fireplace itself is nice but I am on my second one and same problem. The flickering flame works for 6 months the stops. The heat and glow still work. They sent another and didn’t want the broken one back. Now the same problem. I didn’t bother this time. I’ll just one from another manufacturer.

The media could not be loaded. Came in a well protected package very easy and minimal assembly required just a Phillips head screwdriver took me less than 45min installed and cleaned up and looks great I’m very pleased with this fireplace

Pretty nice looking After reading tons of sites, I chose this one from because of its size and the beautiful flames showed in the pictures. When it arrived I took it out and install right away for my basement. The fire and the log are perfect for the ambiance. That's exactly what I expected! The remote is convenient to use, and it is so easy to set the thermostat, the brightness, and timer. The display lets you know the temperature you set.
