I recently purchased this portable door lock and I am extremely impressed. It is lightweight, small, and very easy to pack, making it perfect for travel or for added security in any location. This would be great for hotel rooms and when renting a vacation home. Installing the lock was a breeze, simply sliding it into place on the door where there is a gap between the locking latch and door. The lock securely holds the door closed, providing peace of mind and added security. I love how compact and easy to use this lock is, and I feel much safer knowing I can easily secure any inward-swinging door with it. It does not work with outward-swinging doors. It is also important to note that this lock will only work on doors with gaps between the locking latch and door. If you have a tight fitting door with no gaps, this lock may not be suitable for your needs. Overall, I highly recommend this portable door lock for anyone looking for added security on the go or at home. It is a great investment for peace of mind and easy to use in any situation.

I am very pleased with this product, returned another lock that required drilling. Easy to use and travel with. I left an airbnb unit door unlocked but the sleeping room door was secured with this so I felt safe.

Super easy to use and I wasn’t afraid of locking myself in the room like some of the other products available online. Super simple instructions and installs in less than 30 seconds. Only criticism is the straight flat side doesn’t have any rubber to protect the door frame. You don’t want to over tighten it, but still provides excellent protection. I don’t know how much it would actually stop someone, but it would slow them down for sure which is enough for me.

..with that said it’s not going to replace the security a deadbolt provides for sure. However, it’s better security than most doors that lock only with an average door knob-type lock…works great for traveling as an addition to a door with an already installed deadbolt on it..and that’s actually how I use it..I basically use this as an addition to a hotel or motel door that already has a deadbolt lock on it. The lock has worked on almost every door I used it on. I would add that a couple of times I have had to use it I used it along with a couple of coins ie quarters and a nickel to work like a shim and fill in the gap between the screw adjustment of the lock and the door because the door was a bit deeper in than the door frame. I am not saying this lock can work on every door or knob set up …It’s small and light enough to throw it in your travel bag just in case it does work …along with the coins it’s worked on the last 4 of the 5 doors I have used it on…it’s not that hard to install or disengage but it doesn’t take two seconds to do it either in fact depending on whether you need to use some coins like I do for those times the door is further in it might take a minute or two just to get it right when putting it on..but all said I think it’s pretty good peace of mind if I can use it during my travels so I carry it always regardless and that’s why I bought a second one.

Bought this while traveling last month. Most of the hotels I stayed at didn't really have doors that this worked on but it has added security to my doors at home. I live in a townhome with front and rear entrances and this offers security beyond just a deadbolt that make it worth the money. I'd just look for other brands if the plan is to use it mainly in hotels.

When reviewing this product before purchasing they tell you that there needs to be a bit of a gap between the door and the door jam. I checked mine and felt that there was enough of a gap, but I was wrong, so it did not fit the intended door. It did, however, fit another door, so it does work as promised. I appreciated that they told you about the gap issue, so it was a 'buyer beware' that they were honest about. I will keep it for another door, for travel, or to give to our kids, but was disappointed that it didn't fit my intended door. It arrived in a box, and then in a cute pink drawstring pouch (it will be good for putting keys or jewelry in when traveling :-), but looked a bit scuffed up. It is made of solid material, so I believe it will work as intended. It also has the protective silicone caps for keeping your doors from getting scratched. I may update this review after my next travel trip to let you know if it works on hotel or other doors.
